    Default 2016 brp & gap

So I decided to drag this group of assholes on a ride because they suck and need serious help.

    My starting odo

We ran side roads and some highway through eastern and SE ohio. Got in about 8pm in Waynseboro, VA and hit up a decent bar. Had a great 20 min burger.

This was from our motel the next morning...

Doc Holiday got the rarely ever pictured... ME riding.

We then started into the Blue Ridge Parkway

Tom's first taste of the BRP and he's all thumbs!!

But quickly I shuwed him away.

Doc aka Brandon was "enjoying" the view

In his defense... it was awesome.

We stopped on the parkway for lunch

Which had a view from the tables...

Oh did I mention they had cheesecake?

Then we continued.. and it started to rain. I was working my way on an exit strategy and on that exit... it really started to pour. So... we found some cover... but only for us.

Nasty downloaded Pokemon and started hunting...

Did I mention that beer was required because of this?

So we arrived, not quite dry, at Tuggles Gap. This is an OLD motel without A/C, and we ended up being the only people there once the restaurant closed. It's an experience.

We continued our journey... it's not bad.

We stopped at this place I found, called Coyote Kitchen. It was a hipster place but the food was so good! But then Doc found himself drawn to Tom or maybe... shit who knows why this gay shit happens.

We then got to our "activity" I had setup for the gents. Grandfather Mountain.

    The ride up is interesting!!

I did say the ride up was good, didn't I?

Part of the activity is the suspension bridge that is one mile up from the valley

Which leads you to this view... which is... um... good.

    Doc/Brandon approves

However, the beef between Tom and Brandon came to... well Tom knew he couldn't beat up Brandon, so he saw his chance...

Well Nate talked him out of it. So brandon pointed out some "shoes" down below and he wanted to extract his revenge.

But at the end of that moment...

The view just kept getting better.

We pushed on... or well, we coasted and braked our way down the hill. Finally getting to our Lodge for the night. Big Lynn Lodge is an amazing old school place. Dinner, desert, and breakfast is part of the room charge. I simply love this place.

    They love us too.

Also have parking right outside our rooms.

    Pano

This happened the next day... I don't know anything.

It's been a few years since this bike has been here.

This time I brought all these clowns.

I then found some NC BBQ for Tom.

The views just keep going, but this one is trouble.

Somebody is getting wet, but will we??

Well till then, we did make it to the end. 469 miles.

Later on our way to another adventure the heavens opened upon us, we were on 28 in NC, heading West. I found this place... bam... other bikers doing the same shit.

That was a BIG BIG storm... we got to drive around and UNDER fallen trees, thru some of the best twisty roads NC has to offer. It was entertaining...

We arrived at the next adventure.

We cleared the GAP or Dragons Tail or this popular section of 129 that everybody talks about... made it to the outlook.

    The gents were pumped!!

Across from the Smoking Mountain HD store at the GAP, Tom found something more his size.

My closing odd is 1654 miles. Not too bad.

It's a ride I did back in like 2011 but this was just as interesting.

That's a great ride. Earldawg and I did it several years back.
    We got poured on also.
I think it's a right of passage on the dragon.
He did it on his K9.

As Tom says - "A Harley is just an expensive way to try new places to eat."

Had an awesome time on this trip. Got to spend some time riding roads like I never experience here in Michigan. Definitely a trip I will always remember.
