    Yeah I have heard that about syn oil in the primary... but honestly I haven't had a problem with it.

    Yeah, the main thing with any oil/fluid is just change it when it needs it. I change the engine oil and primary at the same time, usually at the start of riding season. For the engine I went with mobil 1 v-twin 20w-50. Mainly because it was a well reviewed synthetic and it was 9 bucks a quart on sale. I ran it last year as well and I had no issues with it, bike never ran hot and the oil looked good when i drained it. I always stick with redline for the trans just because i like how the bike shifts with it. And finally, I went with plain old HD primary fluid simply because I had a gift card and needed to use it while i was at the dealer.
