Default Anyone deer hunting this year?

I took my first bow hunting kill on the 4th. It was a doe nut.
It wasn't my best shot but he was on the move. I made a grunting noise to stop him but he kept right on moving. I hit him in the spine and he went right down.

Nice kill. Kaley is putting a bait pile out back tomorrow. We will see what it turns up. If we get a buck and post a picture with your truck independence tire in gaylord has a contest so pic with most likes gets wheels tires and lift kit.

Saw 8 deer Saturday in mid Mi. No shooters at this time. Had some turkeys come visit for my entertainment pleasure. Got bombed by falling acorns and pissed of tree rats.

Maybe it is the pic but what the fuck did that thing dress out at like 47 lbs? Looks a tad small. Nice shot there Chef. Want my address to send some vension jerky?

I'm beaver hunting this year. It's tricky business. You don't use your rifle, you use your gun, you rifle is for shooting and your gun is for fun.

Oh yeah and I might go deer hunt in November if I can find some time. No bow hunting for me this year unless it is after Dec 1.

Mud, I didn't weigh it but it was a decent chunk of meat. I hunt a lot of small game. If I'll kill and clean a rabbit or squirrel a small deer is no problem. I couldn't hang in for days because the weather was in the 60's. He was in the freezer the next day. It's great meat, there was only a little fat around the ribs and a couple globules along his spine. The first deer I horde but #2 I will share. When I get number 2 I'll start whipping up the front shoulders into sharing jerky.
Goos luck with your hunting. Cheboygan county is the place to go, they don't have as harsh antler restrictions. You can't eat the damned antlers. I am down to my restricted license so during rifle season I can only get a 4 point on one antler so essentially I can get a 7 or 8 pointer. I have to make another doe kill during bow season because the chance of seeing a monster Buck is basically negative.

My youngest daughter shot the beast on the right. My son in-law got the one on the left with crossbows in mid Mi.
