    well, I'm no mechanic, but isn't all that stuff that was in your way the things that the convertibles have to have to support due to the fact that there is no roof? I know that the new supports will do some of that work but those plates were there for a reason and will the new braces be enough to compensate from the removal and still provide the support they were intended for as well?
    Just asking, I don't know.

    Actually, we removed the stock gussets, modified them, then welded them back in. They use to be rivited in, but now they are welded in. So stronger one might say?

    The sub frame connectors are to keep the mid section between the front & rear sub frames from twisting. Stock the car had 225hp and in current form should be closer to 400hp. So keep the unibody frame straight is important.
