Smile 2015 Gas Man Stang mods

So I have a few loose ends to work on the stang.

    First thing's first...get some parts.

Bama SCT chip with 4 settings (3 tunes + stock). Street/street race combo/race

Some Team Z weld in subframe connectors with torque box reinforcements

Some POR15 rubberized undercoating for the connectors and where I will weld them to the subframe.

    Pre-coating the connectors

Still need to weld them in...

The vacuum manifolds that are plastic are known to fail and/or cause vacuum leaks.

So I got this billet piece

    Installed

Then I picked up some spark plug wire holders to replace the zip ties I used when I installed the motor

    more to come...

So my heater core started leaking last year... I bypassed it but if I expect to roll top down on those cool summer evenings... I need heat for the wife....

Started to remove the dash cluster

    Center console out

The panel collection starts in the backseat

It was a PITA to get out.... but damn...

While the dash was out of the way, I decided to pull the engine ECM from this hole... its tucked in. (but removed in this pic)

    Here it is...

    This was comical... warranty!

But when I went to install it... these caps/diodes were bent the opposite direction and I had to bend them to get this installed!! HOLY FUCK this was nerve racking on a 23+ year circuit board!!!

Here's the chip installed with the tune dial cord hooked up

Then they said just slide it back into place... but it wouldn't fit. They never told, nor did anybody show pics of this mod... like always I'm the only person on the planet with these problems... had to unbolt this white plastic cradle out of the hole in the pic above and take a dremel to it. I guess "Custom don't CHIP in either".

Ran out of time Saturday when doing this... so after we got the ECM back in... I put it to stock setting and got the car started again and drove it back into the garage... and look at all those F'in panels!!

I then worked on swapping the cluster light bulbs with dimmable LEDs.

Which the kit doesn't come with enough to do all the warning lights as well... so I ordered another kit... just goes to show these problems always don't give a shit how many wheels the thing has.

I hope to button it all up next weekend.

Well, I could do that too if I had ta. So long as it was a battery operated stick-on one.

Yeah the wife always has those and the claw things in the car... it is a convertible... so should be expected.

I would think any of them could cross fire... why do you mention those in particular?

Seen a red mustang just like yours down by Pickney 2 weekends ago, but it was some old dude driving. So unless you got old real quick, it wasn't you...
