    Default Makin MOE room

So I started into this year with a stang as a toy project car, 2 bikes, a company car, HBD truck, and the wife's car. I'm picking up a "room mate" as well in Aug... that's another story but also another car.

Time to expand the driveway... I called upon my friend Moe. Him being out of work, he set me up with his brother running the biz.

We got delayed by weather and other scheduling complications but.. we eventually got it going...

So earlier this week, they came by and got to work.

Got the forms set, I just had to re-do some sprinkler bits.

Had some old failing walkway here that is removed. We are using the landscape bricks as the form here.

Sprinkler lines re-burried and wire mesh set

    Concrete showed up

    The boys start spreading

    And more spreading

Next thing you knew there was wet concrete everywhere

    A polished shine... for now

    Guys cleaning up

    Damn it looks good

But the weather came in early... so...

Can't wait to see it tomorrow when they come to remove the plastic again and cut it. Then a week till I can park on it.

Hats off to Moe's brother and their crew!!!

Congrats on the new parking lot. Now you can't bitch about a certain neighbor you have.

I'm surprised you went with a smooth finish. We used to do a rough finish with a broom after working the rocks down. The smooth finish can be slippery as hell. Also was surprised to not see any relief cracks like you have in your driveway or side walks. When we used to lay cement years ago I was told cement will crack, PERIOD. Even if we used rebar to stabilize it like you did the mesh screen. Of course I did cement back in the 80's so maybe I remember wrong. It does look great. I said when I bought my house in 91 that I was going to put a cement driveway in since I know how. I never did.
