    Default Kosher's deer repair thread

Ok, sports fans, just thought I'd start a thread on my deer repair.

It wont come close Gas Man, the grand master of deer damage, but I thought I'd just document it.

Today I got a check from Progressive. The damage is not extensive - basically its the fender, the left fork (just a scratch, but they are paying to replace that fork), the right fork bell, fork seals and labor.

    Net of deductible is $944.

I'm going to use that money to subsidize new Ness Smooth legs and fork bells, and a CVO fender.

    Here's the math:

    Ness Legs: $480 (from Kutter)
    Monotubes: $320 (Kutter)
    Fork bells - $208 (Kutter)
Fender - $600 (its a primed blank, will be painted by Paul the inner fairing guy, got it from Horny Toad HD, cheaper than Kutter)
    Total: $1608
    Check ($944)

    Out of pocket: $664

Here is the fender I'll be getting, its tasty!

    Here are the legs:

    Here are the bells:

Also, I could have ordered a painted fender from Harley, but it would probably be months before I would get it.

The unpainted one is 2 weeks turn around, and Paul can do an *amazing* job of matching, so it will shorten the date-to-finish likely by a couple of months.

I ordered my rear fender (rear) on Monday the 19thof May and my local independent had it on Friday the 23rd. A painted(to match) Harley Davidson fender for only $452.00. I’m anxious to see how theCVO fender looks on the front. I will have a few extra minutes next week, so myRoodie will get a bath and the new fender.
