Default Blessing in Baldwin (Pic Heavy)

Well I decided to head on up to baldwin for the weekend with Kaley and a couple of the roaddocs. We stayed at a friends cabin with about 12 people staying there and had a blast. Like chain said its definitely only worth it for the party. If you ask me the blessing was a bust. Some guy up there bullshitting for about 40 minutes about nonsense. However the riding was great and so were the people we were with.

We headed up on saturday around noon and it was about 50 degrees and with pockets of rain and lots of traffic the first two hours of the ride were kind of rough but the second half was much better when we got out to 131. we stopped and got some qdoba for lunch and thats when i started taking some pictures. heres a shot from the parking lot.

We met up with everyone in town and there were quite a few bikes but nothing special that wowed me. then the usual small rally bs vendors selling cheap overpriced leather. So no pictures of downtown baldwin so we headed back to the cabin about 20 miles west in fountain. the riding around baldwin is very nice for a relaxing ride. smooth roads that are mostly straight but I really enjoyed riding.

heres the cabin stayed at dubbed "off the beaton path" by the owners based on there last name. very nice people and can't thank them enough.

Then I found out my friend kathy's husband was hit by another guy in there group claiming the throttle stuck he was a sporty that ended up with minor damage but he was banged up. kathy's husband was on his 01 glide and was traveling about 60 when he got smashed from behind bike was damaged but all he ended up with was being a little sore from hitting the ground.

thankfully he trailered his bike there and had a way to get it home because the back tired was locked up from the impact.

later that night after dinner we all pilled into the pick up all 12 of us with 6 of us in the bed of the truck. Had a nice night partying and bar hopping. a few of us even road the mechanical bull.

The next morning we headed into the blessing and got there early. again not many show stoppers in terms of bike and if I went again I would skip the blessing and put more miles on and explore. lots of bikes though and got my bike blessed a second time this year. Also talked to klimo for a few minutes and his daughter braved the ride as well.

only bike I really enjoyed looking at. other than that just your normal bullshit.

Then later that night probably my favorite part of the trip was my solo ride over to ludington and watched the sunset and snapped a few pictures.

Then the next day we loaded up and headed home and the riding was about as perfect as can be. Couldnt have asked for better weather and we took it nice and easy with a stop about ever 90 miles or so due to running with a sporty in the group.

snapped a few pics before taking off of the lake that I was able to wake up and drink my coffee looking at and I was even able to have the roadie in the garage while we were there.

just dont understand how guys will trailer to go 4 hours away and only ride about 50 miles while there.

Tom (bulldog) and kim on there superglide

    Kathy (streetlight) and her sporty.

Maybe Ill go back but wont go to the blessing. Thinking of a UP run in the end of june and mancelona traverse in the begining of june.

Cool Looks like a great time glad all made it OK!

As for tailering dont knock it I prefer to trailer especially too the bar. That way you can go out rev your bike up all Bada@$$ like and just drive home plus it keeps all those miles off the bike, not to mention it keeps you from getting sunburn.......
