What if you didn't have any other rifle and you hunted in the rifle zone? Why not use an AR? Then it is multi-purpose and I wouldn't feel so bad spending $1,500 on it. As a pure zombie apocalypse self defense home protection target rifle that is a bit steep.

On the DNR sight it's .22 cal rimfire and smaller. I looked because I thought you needed a .243 or larger too.

Out of all my firearms, if I could only have one rifle, it would be my M-1. If you run out of ammo you have one hell of a club. And I have an M-5 bayonet for it. If only one shotgun it would be my 10ga. Why? Because it's a 10ga.

I have a nice 30-30 Winchester that makes a pretty good deer rifle too.

My favorite rifle round is probably the 30-30, .308, or 30/06 especially if were talking out of an M1

    Great article.
No military experience here. I bought an SKS back in 91, that's what my daughter uses to kill her deer. I have 2 American made firearms, a Sundance .25 made in California and an old Sears & Roebuck 12 gauge. Somewhere along the line I picked up a .38 revolver that was made in Spain. Ive had others but sold them just for the simple fact hat I never used them. I kept the carriers and the hunters.
