when I first looked at the pics in the vid without playing, I was asking myself, "Inductive coil spark?" That would be innovative, but its just routing the wires so they are hidden. Nice.

Well it's not just wires. It's a coil pack on top of the spark plugs. They have been doing it on cars for a while but this is a first for bikes.

no need for that much thread lock, that's just stupid. yeah coil packs ain't new and go bad just like a coil. if it floats your boat, go for it. I've seem them retrofitted on bikes before so it's nothing new, not by a long shot. I even thought about using them but never have the time to play around.

Neat, but I'll stick to the tried and true KISS philosophy

The 09-up coil is hidden behind the frame right where the mid-frame heat deflectors are (at least thats where mine is), and the wires are mostly hidden, the front one runs under the tank.

So from an appearance perspective, it doesnt offer much. In fact those big black blobs aren't all that attractive, IMHO

    I agree.

As far as KISS meathod it's still about the same... these stand along units are actually a bit nicer than your traditional coils. At least compared in cars, you are eliminating a link (the spark plug wire).

I think the proper analogy would be "don't fix what isn't broken".
