    Default Port Dover - Sep 13th, 2013

This is always a big hit...

    PD13.com

Last year the boys that went had a great time.
    See thread (pic beware)

    Destination - Port Dover
Location of start - tenative Gas Man's house
    Time of meet - Thursday Sep 12, 2013 0800
Time to leave (kickstands up) - 0900
Duration of ride (Miles & Time) - 5 hour ride there (backroads) / 4 hour ride back (401 hwy)
    Estimated time of return - Saturday Sep 14th - 1500 (3pm)
End Location if different from start - once state side peeps can split their own ways.
Man Ride or Mixed - debated
Eating or not - DUH YES
Any special gear recommended - rain gear, camping gear is a must!

Man or Mixed ride debate - I know that after last year it was debated that we could mix in women to this event. I don't care either way, as far as bike rallys go, this is not that bad. We seen many wives women there. Just understand that it is not camp ground camping, its camping in a soccer and ball diamond field camping, and using the nearby school for showers and port o johns for bathrooms. Input?

I want to go again either way whether its mixed or not. lots of bars and bands and such to see. Just an overall good time. Would prefer guys only just due to the style of camping and just don't want complaining.

Yeah I know... complaining is my concern.

Well, ladies, my wife was in the Army as well. It's where we met. I would be willing to bet that she has done some pretty severe conditions camping that would make some of you panzies cringe. I'm talking subzero, several feet of snow on the ground (before tent goes up, so snow inside the tent), having to man a kerosene heater as firewatch through the night. So, I would think that a couple days of (and I say this loosely) roughing it with shower building and port-a-cans, she could deal. That being said she has been out of the service for 13 yrs and has little to no interest in a trip like this.

But I would be down, only one problem is that it falls on a training week. Harder to take vacation on those. I will have to see what I can do.

Yeah my wife flat out said no way, not her cup of tea and doesn't sound like her idea of fun. Her idea of camping would be camping out in a room and getting room service.

Fully expect to be over there, and most likely crossing the river and running through Walpole. Probably the most low keyed border crossing you can hope to find. Then meandering the backroads through small town Ontario.
