Default Medical Insurance on bike insurance?

I was carrying medical insurance (not your workers insurance) on my bike before the new anti-helmet laws. I only hold $25k but it's a good start.

    What about you?

Comment the amount if you carry.

    Nope.

If I am gonna ride helmetless I willhave to.

Stupid part is your primary ins covers and the motorcycle insurance doesnt have to pay.

basically a toll have been leavied if you wanna ride without a lid.

Your medical instance (hap/blue cross) won't always cover first. That's the big issue. Speak to your bike insurance agent about this and then call your medical insurance company. Everytime I call my medical insurance company they him haw about it and say it depends on the situation. Well FU I can't rely on that. So I buy the medical on the bike.

In Michigan the biggest thing to understand is that the laws in this aspect for bikes and cars is very different. Cars have a cap less top on what the first at bat has to spend. Motorcycles don't, so you have medical on your bike and its $25k, that means they will go first but then when your hap or whatever goes second they're in it till the end.

So like I said call your agent and talk to him. Insurance is a weird thing and being insurance wise is rare these days. I just switched all mine to a different brand to save some money and most agents when I was pricing out were surprised how well I was covered.

Make sure you understand the 20K requirement to ride without a helmet because its not cheap. Ask your underwriter because many don't understand medical coverage verse medical payments. To me $179 a year is not cheap for 25K of medical coverage. But if your talking medical payments that's only $49 a year. If you do not have the Michigan requirement of insurance your regular insurance could possibly deny your claim by stating you violated the law by not having the required Michigan insurance. But nobody has really tested this yet and that's why the insurance companies are cleaning up on us right now.

I cover the wife and I for $25k in medical insurance for about $125 a year for both bikes... I call that cheap.

    Have already checked this out.

Like I said IF I ride without a helmet , I will have to pay the toll.
