Default First paint job of the 2012 Winter off season

This weekend I started a Sucker Punch Sally chopper for a repeat customer. Only 2 parts so that's nice. This is the base color for the design. Once I get that taped off then the rest will be a black pearl and some pinstripping.

That's made with some womens nylons. I always get funny looks when I'm shopping for nylons.

Yep. You spray a base color, for this one it was a orange with some big flake. Let dry. Then stretch the nylons over it and spray another color, really thinned out black here. Let dry good and pull off the nylons. Then clear and it takes many coats to finish off something like this because it gives you a pretty rough finish to start out with. These have orange candy rather than just straight clear. Any cloth-like material that's perforated and won't leave a bunch of junk stuck to the surface will work.

very interesting. I would think the nylons would stick to the tank once the paint dries or peel the paint off when you try to take them off.

If you put to much paint on it will. A light coat of the second color is the key
