Default Am I crazy? (a road trip debate)

I'm planning on zipping from here to just south of Chicago (about 375miles one way) on a XLH 883 hugger.. A concerned friend is lobbing me strongly to take their car (a toyota matirx). Should I heed their plea or just jam out from here at 11pm as I'm planning?

I think they're just worried since it's a relatively small bike. Same friend fretted back in 01' when I jumped in a geo-metro and floored it from The D down to Miami (wont repeat that again, Georgia turned it into an easy-bake over even w/ AC). Think I'll stick to my plan of hitting the road about 11ish after work on monday, so I can cruise at 60-65 for most of it w/ out getting run over squirrely cagers, also wont have to worry about cooking in my leather either.

Yeah but heat and cagers is no different if you're on a 250 or a Goldwing!

An 883 isn't really a 'small bike,' there's no reason you can't ride to Chicago on it.
You might be like, I'm confused, what's the attraction?
But some dudes just love to lose traction.

Like any club that has grown too large, [motorcycling] has become mired in vacuous debates and split into a thousand splinter factions. Older riders hate squids; cruisers hate sport riders; Harley riders hate everyone, including themselves.

I see no reason not to (except for the rain outside my window). That ride sucks but you could break it up with stops at Michigan Brewing Company, Dark Horse, Bell's, Lakeshore Brewery...

I agree. And if you get off the highway it will be more enjoyable, especially on that bike.

Take the bike...just take it easy and enjoy it. Remember, it's not the destination; it's the experience.
