Royal Oak is all about big rides and most of the people that go there are too. I sell scraped up knee pucks if you know anyone that is interested.

I just have no idea what you are trying to do? You want more the better and that a lot of times, in my experience, creates issues. If you have say 100 bikes you better get a police escort or something. We keep our groups around 6 people. So if say 18 show up we will go out in 3 waves but never just 1 big 18 bike wave. Tried that, bad idea.

I am more interested in smaller more spirited quality rides on good roads and not really interested in big generic mostly hanging out "rides" like Thursdays in Royal Oak. But to each their own. Good luck on getting your rides together. Personally I don't know anyone, including myself, that is interested.

Thanks for your concerns dude, can totally see what your talking about. Im all about being safe and having a good time. You are way over thinking it. Just simply ride down hall road and have fun or go out to eat. I have no idea or intentions to put out 30 people on the road and ride together all though the idea sounds cool but yea a group of like 5 max 10 would be great cause you gotta remember not everyone can ride at the same time. so if we have 10 people maybe only 3 or 4 will ride on Fridays or something get the idea? good!

    AHHH.....that would be a Thruxton.

I think what MP is trying to say is, it's hard to ride with people that you're unfamilar with their riding style. Trust is the issue here, If I don't know how you ride, I will be behind you I would rather watch you crash then have you crash into me.

It's best when you ride with someone new, to keep it simple, get to know each other first. I've been on ONE big group ride......NEVER again.

Having said that Wally, we're close over here, I ride early Sun and Sat morning, either heading north or west. I know where to ride and where not to ride.......Hall road aint for me brother, to many cell phone texting freaks trying to kill me.
Give me a PM when the weather breaks, I do ride fast just not crazy.

I have ridden in big groups before and nothing bad has happened but like what has been mentioned before you need to know who you are riding with and there style, group I was in was about 18 people deep and all my high school friends anything from road glides to busa so it was alot of fun but again we all don't ride in full out full leather and racing boots because we don't ride that style we all wore helmets jackets and boots and jeans but we did not go over the top by making anyone wear gear if they did not want to as long as helmet is on that all that makes a difference to us, anything else is there responsibility

I get over to Shelby Twp a lot, friends and family, especially like running up Roch. Rd. or out Orion Rd. I come over from Algonac and have hooked up with some other Sportster riders, we've been tagged the "Michigan Posse". Done quite a few runs in state and out. Please don't let Tim's,(Telecast), negativity hold you back, we've made his runs but he always seems to be stopping at those "Cowboy bars".

Hmm... sucks to be jumped on by everyone, just like it sucks to ride alone. Although it is nice to go out solo and sharpen up your riding skills from time to time. But as said previously, big groups (6-7+ imo) just turn into a cluster f*%k, the group always seems to get split up, someone gets too far behind/lost, or is trying to play catch-up the whole time etc...

Anyways, if you're interested in riding, I have a pretty nice, small group of people that I ride with. We do Royal Oak bike night a couple times a month in the summer and some other local bike nights as well during the week (we usually try and switch it up every week). On weekends we usually try and take a small road trip somewhere 150-300 miles. Like I said, not really a big group (3-6 people max). If you're interested feel free to shoot me a pm or something, we can exchange info and than I can let you know when we have a ride planned. The only thing is all of the people I ride with are in the Novi/Livonia area and we usually meet up around here, I see your from the east side.

Obviously not riding now but spring is right around the corner...
