Default 1099 Repeal Bills Headed to House Floor

URGE REPRESENTATIVES TO SUPPORT THESE BILLS . . . The House Ways and Means Committee has sent two bills to the House floor that aim to repeal the onerous IRS Form 1099 reporting requirement hidden in last year's health care bill. NSSF is encouraging all retailers, sportsmen and gun owners to contact their representative and urge him or her to support this commonsense measure.

DO YOU WANT TO BE ISSUED A 1099 REPORTED ON YOUR TAXES WHEN YOU SELL OR TRADE IN A GUN OR MULTIPLE GUNS?

IF NOT, HELP STOP THE NEW IRS FORM 1099 REPORTING REQUIREMENT HIDDEN IN LAST YEARS HEALTH CARE BILL.

    URGE SUPPORT FOR H.R.4 AND H.R. 705

THESE REPEAL THE 1099 REPORTING REQUIRMENT THAT DEALERS WOULD HAVE TO FOLLOW WHEN YOU SELL OR TRADE IN GUNS TOTALING MORE THAN $600 IN A YEAR.

Urge Support for H.R. 4 and H.R. 705 The House Ways and Means Committee has sent two bills to the House floor that aim to repeal the onerous IRS Form 1099 reporting requirement hidden in last year's health care bill.
Rep. Dan Lungrenís (R-Calif.) bill, H.R. 4, has passed out of committee unanimously, and would completely repeal this reporting requirement, but does not contain a budgetary offset. House Ways & Means Committee chairman Rep. Dave Camp (R-MI) has introduced an alternative bill (H.R. 705). Earlier this month the U.S. Senate voted to repeal the new reporting requirement. NSSF, which was the first national group to bring this burdensome regulation to Congress' attention, strongly supports the repeal of this reporting requirement. Among the NSSF concerns, small businesses will be forced to issue hundreds, even thousands of forms each year, track cumulative payments to vendors totally $600 annually and obtain tax identification information from each vendor -- including law-abiding gun owners looking to sell used firearms to a dealer.

Alcohol, Tobbaco and Firearms should be a convenience store, not a government agency.

Interesting to note that while the NSSF has taken up the cause here, 1099 reporting applies to ANYTHING you sell to a dealer. A car, a bike, whatever. Anything over $600 or multiple sales to the same dealer that exceed $600 will have to be reported as income. So while this post looks like the bill is about guns only, it's not. EVERYONE needs to let their Rep know how they feel about this.

It's not just the fucks on the left, it's the fucks on the right and up the middle too.
The worst part of our political system is that we keep electing politicians.
None of them can pass anything without tacking on their extra bullshit. Want to raise the speedlimit to 80? Sure, but we'll tack on this part about putting more ethanol in gas, oh and some money for studies on the effects of beer farts on monkeys.

Right, they're all liars and theives. But in this case the health care bill was a liberal initiative, under a liberal house and senate, and proffered by a liberal administation. And it's pretty obvious that a tack on that requires you to pay income tax on something you already own would be thought up by a liberal. So, I felt pretty comfortable blaming them for this one.

Although I have no problem blaming the right and middle for a lot of other stuff!
