Default Stainless welder near Mount Clemens

    Hey all -

Does anyone know of a welder out here on the Eastside? One of my expensive new Supertrapps decided to crack. Supertrapp's being super cool about it and scheduling a production run to get me a replacement. In the interim I need to get this welded up so I can ride. Can I just start cold calling every fabrication/welding shop?

    Thanks,
    Chris:weld:

    Default Btw -

I found it after changing the oil. Giving everything a once over I slipped my hand behind the rear pipe to feel for exhaust leaks, etc. Felt a puff-puff of air. Now I know why.

I can weld mild steel but not stainless.

call chris at "one man & wrench" , he's on Malow off Grosbeck south of Cass. He's a general auto repair shop but he can make/ repair anything and his prices are reasonable.

I will call him tomorrow. Someone else recommended him to me for work on my wife's aircooled VW. I actually rode the Sporty back by there last summer looking for it.

    Thanks,
    Chris

145 Malow, Unit B. Right next door to "Games People Play", He is a V.W guru, He's got a sand rail with turbo with NAwz. he's also got a long travel buggy he built himself, things got over 2 feet of travel. It'll be there.

Default Back on teh road again

Chris was excellent, I'd recommend him to anyone around. I dropped it off yesterday and he did it after lunch today. Bottom line is that the tubing is too thin and will break again. I hope the replacement is heavier.
I put everything back together this afternoon and had time for a run up to the Brass Rail in Port Huron and back (just to make sure everythings OK).

That rail of his has 680 HP! Makes the 60hp 1600DP in my wifes car look pretty silly.
