Have you ever seen one up close and personal? I'd want to lay hands on it first. I wonder if you could remove the crappy backrest and just snug it up to the sissy bar? I can guaranteee my wife won't give up her office chair backrest for the one on the trunk.

Also wonder how much it weighs? They don't say. Most luggage racks I've seen have a limit around 10-12lbs, so if the unit weighs 5lbs. you're really cutting down on capacity.

I can't answer those questions but I will pass them onto a BMW guy I know. He's the one that linked it on another site. These are a highly popular brand of luggauge.

J&P has a similar one by Saddlemen, more costly, doesn't look like it's made any better.

One of the reviews on JC Whitney's site says it pops open because the plastic flexes. I kind of wondered how stiff it would be.

My guy has no input on it...

But here's a thread on another forum with some info on them.

Found some pretty nice ones on ebay. Gloss black ABS, chrome luggage rack on top, full sized backrest with the short arm rests, $158. Much nicer product.

Here's a link to one of the auctions:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Black...Q5fAccessories

They have cheaper ones too, you can eliminate the rack, etc.

Here's a link to the company that distributes most of it:

Fishman found this stuff while looking for bags for his Vulcan.
