    Default Hey Gas

How do you like the saddlebag guards you have on your Glide? I'm thinking about adding some, but the nostalgic version. Also probably going to put the top rails on since the top of the right bag keep getting my wife's boot rubbed across it.

    I like mine just fine.

I didn't at first but realize they are a vital if you ever have anything like a driveway drop. Mine were stock for the ultra (not a glide), and I imagine you could also get a set at one of those crappy swap meets.

Or go with the aftermarket classics like you showed. Which you could also order from biker bobs online at 20% off.

They're not aftermarket, they're HD. The pic came from HD's website. And I would definitely get them from BB's.

The Ultra is an Ultra Classic Electra Glide, correct? That's what Harley calls it anyway.

Maybe aftermarket wasn't the best word... "HD Aftermarket".

Yeah mines a Ultra Classic Electra Glide. Most refer to it as an Ultra. When peeps say Glide they usually are talking about Street Glides.

You don't like GasMan's bike? I think it's nice as hell.

When I was a kid there was the Electra Glide, and...the Electra Glide. No Road Glide, no Street Glide, no Ultra.

We had Superglides and Lowriders, and Sportsters, which were 900cc early on, then 1000. The Wide Glide came out a bit later. I wanted one of those things SO freakin' badly. The flame paint and w-i-d-e forks. Mmmmm.....

I rmember when the Lowrider came out, a guy I knew that rode with Bikers United got one. He was a lot older than me, but I remember the grey and black scheme with red lettering. Then the Sturgis came later. First belt drive they made, if I'm remembering right.

Anyway, anything that had 'Glide' in the name was called a Glide. Maybe we were just lazy.

Agreed...do NOT like the Road Glides either. The huge bulbus fairing is just...bleh. Hoping to get a SE Street Glide someday as well. ;-)

When it's time for the Road King to go it'll probably be an Ultra with a removable tour pack. I love the look of the Street Glide, but you can get there like Gas did and he still has the pack for trips. Heck, I can put a QR fairing on mine and get the same look, but still won't have the pack.

I don't hate the Road Glide, just not my cup-o-tea. Reminds me of an early 80's Gold Wing.
