I use a Garmin nuvi, suction cup it to the plastic cowling in front of my tank, also tethered as well. Not the perfect setup but, works for me.

Pretty much what I was thinking. I've seen a few handlebar mounts for cameras, maybe one could be adapted. The units made for bikes are expensive.

Normally I just ride, but those two orgainized rides I put together at the end of the season were kind of a pain since I hadn't ridden some of the roads. A small GPS would have helped to know when the turns were coming up.

I plan on getting a zumo.

The reason the mc versions are so expensive is cause they are waterproof, shockproof, and have easy to push buttons for glove operation.

That doesn't equal an extra $300-400.

Agree with Telecast, I am looking for one for under 150 since it's rarely even needed and I am more than happy to put a ziploc bag over it or put it in my pocket in the rain. I can take my glove off if I need to push the screen. Everyone on bikes complains about Cagers on their cells , what about those expensive gps that have bluetooth, xm satellite, etc? Now bikes are riding distracted listening to Howard Stern.
