I bought the Raider in April with only 6,620 miles. It had a new rear tire. It now has 13,220 miles and the tire looks like this. Tomorrow morning it will be getting a brand new Avon Cobra 240/40/18. Rumor has it they're good for 10k miles. I'll find out.

7k seems really low for a new tire on a cruiser. What brand was on there that your changing out?

I need some new rubber as well. Need to decide what I want to get.

It was a Metzeler, they're known for only getting 6k miles. I knew this time was coming but I just pushed it. Not riding for the last 4 days has driven me crazy. No I haven't been doing burn outs either.

I put Dunlap American Elite tires on last year. Got a flat on the rear tire at 10,000 miles and only had 50% wear. The American Elite's work great in the rain also.

I ran Elite 3's on my 109 and liked them. The guys on the Raider forum lean towards the Venom Cobra so I figured, why not give em a try.

So you figure a 18k rear tire? I know I didn't say 20k... but it always seems to wear out quicker on the bottom end.

No cupping?

That's what I'm using too. Just put my second set on the SG. Front and back. (first for the 21" front tire, we'll see how that works, the Metzler that came on it had 25k)

When its time that I need tires, I am going to go with the Dunlop American Elite Tires
