View Full Version : What is your choice carry pistol?

I recently picked up my CPL and a few pistols to carry. I researched beforehand to find exactly what i wanted. Just like motorcycles I don't believe you have to have a (Harley) S&W so I ended up with a charter arms revolver and a Taurus semi auto. I've put a few hundred rounds through both and absolutely enjoyed doing so. So back to my question, what is your favorite carry piece?

I carry a Springfield Arms XD(s) .45 most every day. Convenient, powerful, and with the slim version, it's easy to conceal.

My biggest issue to overcome is my big assed belly. When you're as large as I am it's hard to find loose fitting clothes. :)

I have a few but 90% of the time I also carry a Springfield xds in .45 awesome little gun. The key is the right holster more than the clothing. I like my white hate holster. I've had others but the hybrid style are my favorite such as white hat, crossbreed, etc. a good belt also goes a long way for is bigger guys.

I picked up a few holsters, my favorite is the belly band.
Do any of you open carry? I don't like to and I don't see many up north that do with the exception of hunting. My brother is in the Detroit area and he said quite a few people do down there.

Glock 23. I have a couple holsters....I have a Fobus holster like what Chris has...but most of the time when I carry, I use the BladeTech Eclipse which is a Kydex holster...has good retention and is comfortable to wear...it is a OWB holster

I rarely open carry just because it isn't as comfortable to me. I have a couple fobus holster and just don't care for how they feel. I did just get a cheap shoulder rig and do like that for under my jacket and I can wear it while on the sled too.

I have open carried only a couple times....but I usually conceal. I prefer not to attract attention to myself

And they deliver to the side of the highway.
i went to the range with my hunting wife a few weeks ago. She shot the spray paint can at about 9 yards but she missed the fix a flat at 15 yards so I took advantage of her miss.

We should have a winter get together at a range. Would be a good way to see and feel a large number of hand guns. Perhaps one could get an idea of what to purchase next.

I plan to hit the indoor range on Gratiot and I think it's 12 mile rd when I come down there next time. It'll be sometime in late March or early April. Ill have my .38 and my .380 with me and anything else I might pick up between now and then. The bad thing about an indoor range is you can only shoot paper targets the good thing, it's warm.

Action Impact II will be opening March 1st in Eastpointe. On 8 Mile just west of Gratiot. State of the art ranges and air systems, sales, training classroom. I just did the final fire inspection today. Range 1, lanes, will be open on the first. Range 2, combat, will open later this spring.

This is a great idea. Used to get together with MGO who would rent half of The Firing Line. Got to shoot a lot of other pistols and share mine with a lot of other people. Good times.

I prefer my Kahr PM9 for most occasions.
