So a month of so back I sold off the HBD. The plan was to buy my neighbors 2002 Chevy that I got him (and for me to borrow) from my work when they still sold us the old work trucks for cheap... which they don't do anymore.

But about 2 weeks ago, about 2am my neighbor hood a loud noise out front; he looked out the window and didn't see anything. Next morning he found this....

http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l311/cjclark69/Vechicles/IMG_7534_zps387f9dcd.jpg (http://s99.photobucket.com/user/cjclark69/media/Vechicles/IMG_7534_zps387f9dcd.jpg.html)
http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l311/cjclark69/Vechicles/IMG_7535_zpsbcf0ab14.jpg (http://s99.photobucket.com/user/cjclark69/media/Vechicles/IMG_7535_zpsbcf0ab14.jpg.html)

What we can figure... That night, my other neighbor about 5 houses down had his big annual bash. We think a drunkard from that did it...

Anyway, 12 year old truck had full coverage but they totaled it. I don't mind a few dents but that's taking it too far for me.

I don't want somebody else's junk garbage off CL, especially post flood-apocalypse 2014. So I thought about the cheapest lease I can find in a big 3 truck, 3 year/10k per. I called first choice and the best he could get me, being I don't qualify for competitor lease swap... $335 a month for a extended cab STX. meh... and way too much coin. I want low 200's.

Chevy guy can do work truck stripped down truck for $220. Ok but I'd prefer to not buy another GM.

I remembered my buddy Jason works at Suburban Chrysler/Dodge/Ram/Fiat in AA. Called him... he hooked me the F up!!! Dude is awesome!!! Got me discounts and $8500 in rebates. Got a standard assesories truck (PW/PL/Keyless/AC/ABS) but nothing fancy besides the backup camera. But it has a 5.7 HEMI and 4x4 sitting on 20" chrome... get this...

$225 a month and with 12k per year. I'm stoked!!

I picked the color and BAM
http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l311/cjclark69/Vechicles/Ram/IMG_7590_zps69fa9f4b.jpg (http://s99.photobucket.com/user/cjclark69/media/Vechicles/Ram/IMG_7590_zps69fa9f4b.jpg.html)

The truck isn't decked out like Bagger Dave's or allot of others. But it is a far cry better than I was expecting for a new truck lease in the way low 200's.

If you need any of this... look up Jason. He will even bring you the car if you need.

Tell him I sent you!

With this being a nice new and 4x4 truck, I can send the wife to work with it, and fully expect for her to drive it most of the winter.

Either way... I now have 4 cars in the driveway, 1 stang in the garage with the 1 HD. I'm paying/paid for all but 1.

Yeah, I have always owned GM and never had any major problems....to each their own...
You going to have Arnold do 20% on the front doors? to match the rear doors?

Nice Ride!

I gotta admit though, as I was looking at the pics of the bashed up buddies truck, that it was another Mustang in the making, and that GasMan's Garage would be occupied with the restoration and rebuild for the next several months. LOL.

Way to go Gman!

Nah Dave, I'm not going that dark... probably 50%... with a windshield banner.

Thanks gents. I like it. It's not a loaded up dream truck but it looks good and I'm happy with it.

Al, you are right but not. It is sad about the white truck, it's a good truck.

I've had 3 Rams and not one issue with any of them but with my employee pricing it was a good deal. I took an engineer job starting next week and its a salary position so Ill be looking for a new Ram again. We get unlimited miles and insurance included so I'm thinking the new eco diesel

You said something on fb about pulling badges. Do they care about that with leases?

Even before my ownership of a RAM I always thought they over did the door emblems... Looks like a billboard.
http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l311/cjclark69/Vechicles/Ram/IMG_7627_zps393bd053.jpg (http://s99.photobucket.com/user/cjclark69/media/Vechicles/Ram/IMG_7627_zps393bd053.jpg.html)

So it took me about an hour to rid the door emblems.

Looks so much better.

Otherwise, put about 300 miles on it this weekend. I like the truck.

Nice looking truck. I like it. Im curious, what can you buy it out for at the end of your lease if you want to keep it.

Gas Man
09-02-2014, 07:51 AM
I have no idea Dagnabit. I usually don't care because what makes a great lease is a high residual, which makes a crap tastic buy out.

That being said... I pay about $8300 over 3 years... The sticker was $39,XXX and I had $8500 in rebates...

39,xxx
-8,300
=$31,000
-8,500
=$22,500

They are forgiving on there lease turn ins, badges being gone will have no impact.

Got a bed mat, this way I can take it with me when lease is done.
http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l311/cjclark69/Vechicles/Ram/IMG_7639_zpsf05d80f0.jpg (http://s99.photobucket.com/user/cjclark69/media/Vechicles/Ram/IMG_7639_zpsf05d80f0.jpg.html)

Then I bought a $25 cable so I could use my 10 year old trailer brake controller.
http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l311/cjclark69/Vechicles/Ram/IMG_7642_zps536bb865.jpg (http://s99.photobucket.com/user/cjclark69/media/Vechicles/Ram/IMG_7642_zps536bb865.jpg.html)

Unplug it, put the cord under the dash and remove... hence the velcro

So I don't like dirty chrome...

I needed to rotate the tires on the truck so it levitated
http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l311/cjclark69/Vechicles/Ram/IMG_9999_zpsdfcizirm.jpg (http://s99.photobucket.com/user/cjclark69/media/Vechicles/Ram/IMG_9999_zpsdfcizirm.jpg.html)

So I cleaned them for the first time... even getting the blue residue off the white letters.
http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l311/cjclark69/Vechicles/Ram/IMG_9997_zpsycgmrdk5.jpg (http://s99.photobucket.com/user/cjclark69/media/Vechicles/Ram/IMG_9997_zpsycgmrdk5.jpg.html)

I decided to plastic dip the rims, leaving the center caps chrome and the lug nuts bright alum/chrome. So here's two coats on the rims.
http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l311/cjclark69/Vechicles/Ram/IMG_9998_zps5psd3vcu.jpg (http://s99.photobucket.com/user/cjclark69/media/Vechicles/Ram/IMG_9998_zps5psd3vcu.jpg.html)

On the truck in the garage light glow and my headlight.

http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l311/cjclark69/Vechicles/Ram/IMG_0002_zpsg7mxlbjf.jpg (http://s99.photobucket.com/user/cjclark69/media/Vechicles/Ram/IMG_0002_zpsg7mxlbjf.jpg.html)

Can't wait to see them in the daylight.

if you just want flat or satin black you can get it at home depot. I did a whole bike with that stuff

No you don't want to use heavy brushes, drive thru car washes, or power sprayers. It's not that durable.

I got talked into doing the emblems.

Tailgate Ram & 4x4

Them I got fancy with razor blades to do this Hemi emblem in black on top but still show the "5.7 LITER" on the bottom
http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l311/cjclark69/Vechicles/Ram/IMG_0020_zpsbtmkzfdk.jpg (http://s99.photobucket.com/user/cjclark69/media/Vechicles/Ram/IMG_0020_zpsbtmkzfdk.jpg.html)

So when I cleaned up the truck during the pealing process I ended up with a mostly clean tail gate and big spots of clean... looked bad. The problem is I have NEVER washed this truck from it's original new at dealership wash in Aug 2014. So I washed the truck... looks great!

It lasted 3 hours clean till I drove it in the rain... :lmao: Which is why I don't wash it... oh well.
