I'm pretty much did with the stealership bike has been acting weird as hell been checking all kinds of shit out. Turns out it was a cracked plastic hose from the pump to filter. Abc is right up the street so run to get one. 38 bucks if it wasn't keeping me from riding I would have told the guy to choke on it.

I bet you motherfuckers missed me. I finally got my shoulder / rotator cuff in check and I can start riding - now that it is 195 degrees out. Motherfucker. If nothing else I got a trip planned 3rd week of August to Deal's Gap. So buttons. I'll ride one way or another.

I reckon I should change my oil. Better give gasman a ring a ling.

So what is the purpose of the breather bolt? More air to keep it running cooler?

Kosher
08-10-2015, 04:35 PM
V-twin engines build up pressure in the cylinders, it has to be vented somewhere. Used to be that it was just vented out to the air, but the good ol EPA now mandates that those fumes need to be re-directed back into the intake. It can result in some oil mist in some cases, also if you're oil is over-filled it can be a bit worse.

Man I will tell you the fuck what. Down south around the dragon there are feral fucking dogs EVERYWHERE. If you ride down there watch out. Little fucker bit my boot. Had to kick the fucker and rev my engine to get rid of him at the gas station in robinsville. Deer are one thing - they typically run from you. The fucking dogs will run out on you and chase you, etc. Fuck that. I saw 5 deer on the dragon - first time ever. Saw possum, coon, bear. Never deer. Fucking deer ran out in front of me at about mile 8 and then back across the road in front of me again and then started running along side me for a second until I gassed it up and got the fuck out of there. A deer ran across on me on the triple nickel in hocking hills. Deer are no laughing matter. That's for sure. My hit count on deer is 6. 2 on a bike. 2 in a car. 2 in a truck. The 1 on a bike I got lucky and just broke my mirror that hit that fucker's head. The other 1 on the bike I was not so lucky.

It seems like a few of us are changing jobs.

After 2.5 years in salary at my company, I simply can't take it anymore. I'm tired of the corporate BS, their back stabbing, corporate liberal way of doing anything, not listening to basic common sense field experience that I brought to the table... I'm done stressing over trying to change what they clearly don't want to. I will switch back to the field work that pays hourly and way way better than the salary and all of it's stress.

I gave back the company car... good riddance. Gave up the private corner office... will miss that. But I will make more money and not take the job home anymore.

I'm looking forward to the switch back to my roots. Currently this new/old job will give me a variety of things... maintenance, ops, and special projects. I also go into this location's gang and I'll be the #3 man in seniority. I use to work at this location when I was the very bottom of that list... this should be a good change for me.

I'm excited...

Good luck Chris. You gave the corporate whore thing a shot. It's definitely not for everyone. I've done both shop and office. I prefer the shop too. I worked my way into an office a company truck that I didn't have to work out of and even a partner in a company. When that failed and I went back to basics in the field I was relieved more than I ever expected.

The thing that pushed me from the comfy office into my own business was the corporate BS. Meetings just to schedule meetings. No one got anything done. Good idea, let's make everyone waste hours on sensitivity training.... etc.

Dave - I know you gotta do what ya gotta do, but as a retailer operating on slim margins, I can't stand it when people do that. I have the time, money, and floor space invested in stocking the item, and pay my staff to be there to merchandise the displays, explain features and benefits to the customer, etc. and then someone comes in, checks it out, checks the fit when appropriate, and buys online to save a couple bucks. Or worse yet, buys it from me so they can have it right now, then orders online and returns the new one to me.

Sorry to rant, gents.

Al, 1 thing that I do not do is I would never buy from a store and then order online for cheaper and then return it! never have done that!
I am all about buying from local...but I cant stand it when I walk in the store to check something out and lets say the item is $100 online and then I go to the store and they are charging $275! Fuck That! If some places wouldn't be so greedy, they would get more of my business!

I get that Dave. The difference in price between my stuff and online is usually only $10-$25, not $175! And BB - I'm sure really has huge margins on many things, especially since Hale's can sell so much less. How are Hale's prices in the store?

The misses and I spent the day on the water. Now she wants a bigger boat for that one day a year. She has he eye on the Yamaha 242 Limited S .

Got rid of a 27' a few years back because it was to big (her thoughts not mine). The misses thinks the 24' to a bit large but she likes the extras. I'm leaning toward a winter purchase.

Winter purchase is always best. That's what I did.

So I haven't rode much and been looking at phase one of a cam and big bore Feuling has a set up with 95 % of the parts to convert to up dated cam tensioners. I'm thinking the 525 or 543 cams. The second part will be a set of 06 ported heads and big bore.

I rode to work. Then found several excuses throughout the day to run errands that kept me on the bike much of the day...

It was awesome outside. I am riding again today.

What's up guys? I saw a UP sticker on a truck I was searching yesterday made me think of you all at TWM! Hopefully the damn groundhog makes the right decision, even though we haven't had much of one or down here. I hope everyone is doing well.

Not bad. I wish I was further south, I can almost see the Mason-Dixon line from my house. The riding here is great.
