My idea for sunday is browns bar on harsens island. I was originally thinking San souci but if we go with a decent size group well be there forever. So let's ride out take the ferry and have some perch. This is not a foodies dream but just a way to enjoy a nice lunch on the water.

Thinking meeting up at 11 but not sure where yet. Time subject to change based on meeting location weather more downriver or in the OC.

Ride along the water to Algonac and catch the ferry over to harsens. $2.00 fee for motorcycles each way on the ferry so bring cash. Short ride on the island for lunch then head on home.

Thoughts?

I have never eaten at Browns but San Souci is awesome always eat there when we go duck hunting. There used to be a pizza/ ice cream / gas place that had the best pizza in the state but I think I changed hands.

Great idea Lance and I am in - although after Harsen's island I may deviate my course because I have friends and family in Algonac and I don't get over there too often so I will probably visit with them after. I may even bring an extra dollar to buy you an ice cream.

dude that's a real bad idea !!!! it is gonna be stupid packed. I know a few people that live on the island year around and holidays are always packed and a loooonnngggg wait for the ferry. I use to live by the ferry and seen it many times and you have the fair going on in Algonac so traffic is gonna be crazy.
funny you said that, my said I should do a twc ride to the island lol. if yall want, stop on over my place. i'm 15 minutes away

browns is a lot louder than san's unless you eat outside. be careful on M-29, that road has a lot of bad drivers!

if yall are interested, come over my house and i'll do a cookout

Are you still on for TWC to Harsens Island? Leaving from where, about what time? As junkyardjon mentioned, Brown's will be packed. Have you an alternative location and has a route been mapped? Whatever you choose I would like to run along.

Still going to harsens.

Meeting at 10 at Kerbys Coney island 26245 Telegraph Rd, Southfield, MI 48033.

I figure well be there for a minute so if you can't show up until closer til 11 just send me a pm and I'll give you my number. Mud has a route planned but I figure just head east until water and follow until Algonac. Not real familiar with the area so can't plan a great route. Then once we get on the ferry and get over ride to browns and if they are too packed head to San souci. If all else fails I'll get off the island grad some fucking beef jerky and keep riding north til I hit some good roads.

We had a great day. Me and Rebelscum (Tom) rode from my place and met mud and kosher at the Coney Island around ten. Then we rolled out and apparently just missed bomb dog. We rode over to the east side and met up with Klimo and his lady. From there we rolled along the water all the way to Algonac and would have went right onto the ferry with no wait but klimo's key fob battery died so he had to do a quick battery change because his bike wouldn't start.

Then we rode to browns bar on the island and along the way picked up Bombdog and his buddy (forgot the name). Was disappointed with browns only because I couldn't get fish but the food we did have was good.

After lunch we went to the other side of the island for a photo op (will post tomorrow) and after we closed down the road we took off to San souci and got icecream. Had an awesome day and would do the ride again in a heart beat. Definitely need to go back and do San souci for a ride. Overall a little over 200 miles on the glide today. Got a nice burn on my face to go with it.

We all got great pics and will get them up tomorrow when I'm not on the phone

Klimo... you can bypass your key fob by entering a 5 digit code into your dash with your turn signals. Look it up in your manual. Problem is you need to know the 5 digit code.

Many use a zip code...

Had a great time but now am jonesing to get my boat in the water. My buddy ( we will call him Rick ) and I left my house and I tried hitting the dealership to pick up a windshield fastener thingy but they were closed. Missed them at the Coney so headed up to Harsens. Waited at the Ferry for about 15 minutes tried calling Lance but he dont have a 14 HD with sink so did not answer. We jumped on the ferry and headed over. For those who have not done this it is interesting putting your bike on a small ferry with a wet deck and cat litter (lance will explain). God Bless our server who had no idea what she was getting into but I do think she will change careers(maybe prison guard). A great ride around the Island with lots of :boobies: some we really did not want to see. I got to lead around the island with nobody going down and no U turns. We also had a Airplane stop for us! All and all a great day.

I changed mine from the default (many bikes are stolen because the dont change them), and HD actually provides a card you can keep in your wallet that outlines the override procedure and has space for you to write your code on it.

Same as your luggage? 1-2-3-4?

A great day of riding. Could be the best TWC of the year. Too bad if you missed it. Had a great time. Definitely would go back to Harsen's in a heartbeat. Got home, my neighbor asked where I went and I told him Harsens. He said the ferry is private owned and at the end of the year those people are retiring. Not making any money. So it's questionable 2015 and beyond if there even will be a ferry?? Maybe since we don't need the Kwamee defense fund we can take it out of those monies. Or Bombdog can run a topless ferry from Algonac to Harsens on one of his 2 boats.

Great to see everyone and meet the new peepz I haven't met. If I forget your name the next time I see you (or forget I met you, i.e. Klimo) - it's not that you aren't a geniunely good person or that I don't like you or you aren't memorable - it's because I killed a lot of brain cells in my youth and memory is not one of my strong suits.

And thanks for letting a non-HD mingle amongst the pack. I even got to test out my race brake pads on the island - they work good.

You know it. Fucking a. You missed a sweet ride Billiam.

I fucked around with the group shot a little and I couldn't decide what I liked so I am posting all 5 of the ones I edited - you can decide if you like any, none or all of them. I like something about each of them. Would have been easier if I took 3 bad shots and 1 good one but that wasn't the case. The first one cracks me up - a couple of sign sharks peeking their heads out, lol.
