They make agitators in 18 and 19, mine are 18. Do they make them in 21? I'd be up for it.

I figure I can sell the 18" rim and rotors for about $500-600. I have a quote from Horny Toad HD for the 19" for $1100 shipped, includes a new tire (it will need it soon anyway, so back that $ amount out), bearings installed, and new rotors (I want the ones with black in the middle, vs what I have).

So net net its not completely horrible.

The problem is that I will need a new front tire right around when I'm in Sturgis. I was planning on having JP Cycles do it while I'm there (they have a shop set up with pretty good deals, and they're done in about an hour).

I could buy a new setup in Sturgis, but then I'd have to ship the old front back to MI, and Rapid HD changes their name to "Rape HD" during the rally, so it would be way more expensive than Horny Toad.

Such problems......

That is actually not a bad idea. There's one right down the road from where I'm staying. You are a genius! I'd still have to pay return shipping of the old wheel....

The other thing I could do is just have the 18" tire installed in Sturgis, ride it back and sell the wheel at home. A rim with a tire that only has 1500 miles is more sale-able.

I still say you could pick up just a front 21 from coastal moto with rubber and rotors for the same price as that agitator. But then your front wont Mach the rear.

Yeah, true, and they'd install it for free too, but again, like you said, matching rear is $$$ plus the shipping thing again.

I just had the tire replaced at ABC HD. Motor City was having a tire install special for $197 OTD, but they didnt have any 18" D408s in stock. I took a hit, but it was cupped pretty bad. Was running 40 PSI, ABC service guy says to run 38. Cant imagine it makes *that* much difference, but ok.

Glad I did it, I noticed that it had a slight bounce to it as I backed it out of the garage, and it was making that repetitive "wah wah wah" sound at highway speeds.

I was going to wait until Sturgis, but I've got a long trip starting on Saturday, and I dont think J&P sells the HD D408s (tho they do sell the equivalent Elite 3, I guess)

Anyway, glad I did it, rides much better now.

So I guess I'm sticking with the 18 in front, unless Rapid City HD makes me a screamin deal. I spoke with the parts guy, he said they order a TON of wheels for the rally and they do cut deals toward the end of the week.

Yes that is a bad idea, period. But three things you need to do religiously with your bike:

1. Tire pressure, check early and check often
2. Oil - use the best, change less often
3. Chain - clean, lube, check slack / adjust every 500 miles - if you don't have a chain then buy a new bike or something

1. Check, do it before every ride.
2. Check, Am soil... yup! Your review of it made me change from Meijers brand to Am soil.
3. Why do I need to be cleaned and lubed... Ass hole!!!! Besides, Why am I listening to you, you don't ride! :lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:
