Riding into work today I noticed my rear brake was different. Inspected it found the pad came unbonded from the plate. SMDH ... It's a 2013 with 8745 on it. Should this be a warranty item? The inside pad looks great just the outside pad fell apart. That dealership downriver says no way will Harley cover it, wouldn't even attempt to. Called another they at least said they would contact Harley to find out. Anyone seen this before? Any suggestions on different pads?

So did it do any damage?

I'd try to get them to cover it, BUT, I they could claim it was due to "extreme" conditions, and claim you were a brake whore... I don't see them covering it.

Hopefully there was no damage.

Slight rotor marks, i think the rotor should be fine. Just some light emery clothe should clean it up. Taking it Slow and easy home.

Depending on when you bought it, of course it should be warranty!

Brakes are a wear item , they won't cover that. Best bet is go to dealer you bought it , good will repair

Unless I read it wrong - pads separating from the base isnt wear.

Should they? Yes because it's a part defect.

Is it worth the hassle? New pads are probably $30. It's a 15 min job.

I'd help you with it if you want.

Biggest problem at BB... new guys. They don't know enough and once they do, they leave because management treats them like shit IMO. That is the only reason there can be for such a high turn over.

I've always had excellent service with MCHD, Mark Garcia, the service writer has always given me straight up service and covered everything under the ESP, even when it was my f' up. I have nothing but good things to say about those guys. You should be treated square.

What a great experience!! Normally I cant stand going to the dealership for anything. Andrew in service hooked me up. They replaced the pads and the rotor under warranty and should have it done by the end of the day.
