So after looking for some time, wrecked and used FLT's, I found this in FL. After haggling a short time I got this, happy cause I wanted a plain jane I could work with. This fit the bill. It was slated to arrive tomorrow April 7th, but the hauler called and delivered today. I got a late start to tearing her down, but I couldn't wait to share. (I'm stoked) ;)

Got tons of parts in this last week, and still waiting on a lot. I'll post as I go. I did take if for a ride, and am really impressed with the stock 103. Feels really funny behind a stationary faring!!!

Game plan is to black it all out, and make it a comfy ride. But that can all change as I go! ;)

check out roadglide.org..............every possible question on earth regarding the RG will be addressed on that site. Often in 400 different treads that all come to the same conclusion. :-)

Come on... don't be like that...

I'm NOT doing anything major, I promised my wife some simple mods. I wanna keep it for long distance! The SG is good for doing a bridge run up to the Mack, but I wouldn't want to ride it to Sturgis.... I went too far. Learnt a lot. Won't repeat.

Yeah I could have guessed you took it to far tricked out for long distance. It's a tough line to walk... I know I'm attempting to do that myself... I want to retain it's functionality.

Yes it is. Real fine line.

It works... don't get me wrong, I'd trust it, we went to as far as Marquette and around to Iron Mt and shit one ride, and at least 4 more north above the bridge trips. And NOT one problem, (cept one time I adjusted the lifters, and one worked lose, so I had to readjust that on the side of the road, that was fun! NOT)

The exhaust is in your ear ridiculous. And because of the motor build, it's louder, causing me to listen to every tiny rattle and clank. Them are the only 2 reasons I can think of. All else, I'm happy to take it cross country. Stupid fast too.

I agree!!! We've done a TON of that shit, from engine builds to simple shit like this! ANYONE can do any of it, just takes a good mentor sometimes... Built a memorial chopper for a fallen brother last year... But there are some that don't want the pics public yet... still an open wound. I will some day post them too...

I sold it last year... it was a sad day, my wife cried, and I was definitely saddened by it, but with the Glide we just didn't ride it anymore. EVERY DAMN TIME we did ride it, we'd pull out onto the road, and I'd be asking my self "where the fuk is my cruise, and my radio, and what the fuk is this shit in my face"... hahaha! Sold it to a cat in MN and he still sends me txts with pics of it. Went to a good home. ;)

Not the greatest pics, but the latest... about 70% done. NOTHING special, but I like the black personally, and figured I'd do what others have. Should have all the rest of the paint tomorrow and done by Friday. Hoping to ride Saturday in my buds memorial ride!

Winging it...:lmao: I really enjoy wiring n soldering... BTW? I am one messy MF'r when I am in the middle of a project! I spent all Sunday cleaning all my shit up!!! I am over this small space and ready for my damn bike building!!!!!

99% done... Gotta pull them stupid latch reflectors tonight, replace with a ball milled black insert I have, ipod docking, check final torques and sale!

NOT the best pics, I'll get better ones outside in the daylight and with our better camera. Happy with it thus far. And close to my budget. Did all the upgrades out of pocket, so I'm happy this skoot will be free and clear this time next year! (good feeling)

I found these a few years ago and use them on my SG and have been happy with it. I was always going to make a post here about them, but I just plain forget. So I snapped some pics.

We all know how the bag lid organizers work... THEY DON'T!!!!!!!! As you can see in the pic, they previous guy tried and tried to no avail...

They take place of the lid "strut". And you can fit a surprising amount of items in them. I put my aspirin, sunglasses, tools, fuses, etc. all the small shit that will find it's way to the bottom of the bag if you allow it too...

Buttoned up.
http://i455.photobucket.com/albums/qq274/bigdogfatty/DSCN1634.jpg
Unbuttoned and opened.
http://i455.photobucket.com/albums/qq274/bigdogfatty/DSCN1635.jpg

All the pockets, (4 in all, large center, 1 on the left, and 2 on the right) have valcro flaps that close and keep everything in.

Found them on ebay, like 35$ for the set shipped... easy to install. (4 bolts)

Actually cheaper than I remember... 26$ per set!

They are sold separate... so you have to purchase 2....
