View Full Version : HOLLY: Sunday, May 3

04-26-2009, 08:46 AM
Heads up, 2Wheelers! Next Sunday is Vintage Bike Day in downtown Holly, MI. The downtown area is closed to bikes. This will be my 9th year of attending. I've seen 8-10 bikes when it was 50 degrees and drizzling, or as many a 3-400 when it was in the upper 80s. They call it 'vintage' day, but all bikes show up, new, old and in-between.

How about we get a group together and head up there???

We're in!

04-26-2009, 09:59 PM
Where is Holly?

I'll Google it. LOL

04-26-2009, 11:15 PM
I should be there also. My grandparents and my uncle live there. he just bought a new HD camera he's been wanting to test out. I'm sure if you wanted HD pics/movies of your bikes i could have him make copies or add them to youtube. I've added a few vids myself from him and his cameras :) he's also the one I bought my bike from. Gotta clean my bike up this week, rode in the rain twice yesterday on the way home from attampting to go to the vermontville syrup festival. hope to see you there :)

Nope, just found out I'm having company next weekend. Dammit I'm trapped in my own house.

Where are the eastsiders meeting for the ride out?

04-27-2009, 10:19 AM
Where ever ya wanna meet, buddy!

Gas Man
04-27-2009, 11:37 AM
Meeting... guess that depends on which way we are going out. 75 or 23 or what?

04-27-2009, 02:28 PM
FWIW: If there is any interest, I will offer my place in Northville as a meeting point for this coming Sunday's Holly Vintage Bike Day ride. Any/all West-siders who want to, can rendezvous at my humble joint. I'll have coffee, etc. on the deck. When we reach critical mass, we can depart.

P.S. I take the 'back roads', up through Milford. Scenic ride, very pleasant with a few twisties to keep it interesting.

Chris - are you committed to taking the x-way?

Chicka chi kaa.

04-29-2009, 10:25 AM
So what time is this event Sunday? I'm getting anxious to go now! I'm hoping the Freeriders go, too. Obviously the west siders and the east siders will meet at different places, but maybe we can coordinate our times so we can all get to the event or a location that's close at about the same time. Let's say us east siders meet at the Dave and Busters parking lot again, unless we meet so early that we turn it into a breakfast thing too. What time do you suggest we get to Holly, Meinschaft?

04-30-2009, 12:30 AM
Hopefully not TOO early. I'm on midnights this weekend.

How about we meet just outside downtown. There is a bank "State Bank" just north of the downtown area. Could meet in the parking lot.

04-30-2009, 09:09 AM
Sounds like the place to meet. Oh, btw,

Hey, maybe the west siders will wanna do that. Glad you guys are goin!

04-30-2009, 10:38 AM

You guys/gals coming up Sheldon Rd., past Northville Downs? Maybe we can meet in the parking lot, across from the horse track, on the west side of Sheldon. What time you planning on going?

Berto, you coming??????????? Chris?

04-30-2009, 10:46 AM
Chris mentioned having to work nights, so I'm betting that's too early for him.

04-30-2009, 11:03 AM
I'm not leaving at 8:30, that's too damn early. I can probably wait for GasMan to get his restorative beauty sleep after a night spent in self-abuse..... That goes for Berto, too.

I need to check my work sked to see how bad or not bad my saturday night shift.

Gas Man
04-30-2009, 03:31 PM
So I checked the pipeline sked and it looks like my Sat night won't be too bad. Sun night shift will be an early one so that also helps. So I'll just be battling my midnight sked sleepin habbits. You guys set it up and I'll do what I have to.

Where do you plan to depart from?

05-02-2009, 09:17 AM
I have not firmed any plans up yet. Mike mentioned us eastsiders meeting and Dave and Busters , but whatever is cool with me. Also i'm not sure where everyone is meeting in Holly, but again any place is cool with me, I just wanna ride and meet everyone I have not met yet. I gotta change oil today as well so , up to Wallyworld I go.

05-02-2009, 09:29 AM
Looks like Eastsiders can take Dixie Hwy to Holly Rd. Downtown Holly is WAY small; I suggest we gather at the north end of the street where all the bikes will be. It is the street BEHIND (or just west of) the Holly Hotel.

The north end of the street usually fills up last; this means there is usually space there to park

Mein... I need directions to your place and a time. So I know where I'm going

Gas Man

Maybe when I get up tomry, if the neighbor wants a ride we'll head up... if not I'll probably stay local...

Sorry I haven't chimed in guys, Monica was working all day and I was doing the MSF thing all day, so neither of us got home till late yesterday. My feet are killing me. We're still in, we'll meet you guys around noon in Holly like you said, and I'll be calling Bill in the next few minutes to see where we'll meet. I even posted this event in the FCRC forum and now many of them are going as well. Can't wait, guys!

So anybody go?

I opted out when I didn't know what was going on. Thought about going up by myself, but ended up riding down to a mc swap meet at the monroe fairgrounds instead.

05-04-2009, 08:02 AM
It was a great day, perfect weather, good roads. Gas man, sorry we missed you, Phil, it was good to meet you and your buddy.(sorry can't recall his name) The ride out with Monica and Mike was most excellent. The ride home gave me a chance to sample Mikes B-king .......WOW, gobs of power, scary fast, stupid fast, really really fun fast, maybe next time I'll get it out of second gear, LOL. Damn you Mike now my fizzy seems slow.
Really enjoyed Dinner last night as well M&M,thanks for joining us.

05-04-2009, 08:11 AM

Was good to finally meet you and Monica! Sorry a ride from Holly was not in the cards. Gas Man - we missed you. I also ran into William (Dr.Buzzard) and his friend, Mitchell, before we left.

OK, when/where is the next ride?

05-04-2009, 10:26 AM
We had about 12 riders from our group up there yesterday, sorry I missed you meinschaft and your guys....... I did see (Dr.Buzzard) and his friend, Mitchell some day we will all meet.

05-04-2009, 11:44 AM
Jeeze, I didn't even see your last few posts to this thread before I posted Sunday. Sorry about that! Huh. Anyways, Monica and I had a GREAT time yesterday, the whole day was just fantastic. I do regret not meeting Dad and their group, and not being able to spend more time with Meinschaft, I felt bad for that, but we'll get our chance to catch up. Hopefully next time Gas and Berto will make it too. Gas, I even brought the HD sign I cut for ya in case you went. Still got it in my tankbag. Did anyone hit Stockbridge?

05-04-2009, 11:48 AM
Thank you, Bill and your wife, for the great dinner after a great ride. So nice of both of you. I love your back yard! Perfect ending to a beautiful day. Would love to type more, but at work, and kinda rushing. Thank you again.

05-04-2009, 12:22 PM
Wow. Glad to hear evryone had such a fine time, despite the fact we couldn't all ride together. The good news is that's it's early May and we have the whole Summer ahead of us.

Sorry I missed you guys... I'm use to more detail in setting up a ride. Especially when its 1am and nothing is set for that morning.

Glad you all had a good time.

BK... I'll get it off ya later. Don't worry about that.
