This is Caveman's uncle, he was at my house for the Jerry's Pub ride for TWC. Also a member here BikerGeoff (http://www.twowheelmichigan.com/member.php?1056-BikerGeoff)

He had a bad motorcycle accident last night about 0130 in Monroe.

Riders: Please standy... we may have duties to perform for a fellow rider and generally great guy.

Here is the news story from Monroe's website:

Wow. We just rode out to Wampler's Lake to Jerry's Pub with him last month. I didn't know Geoff outside of that one ride, but he seemed like a great guy, and the mutual friends we have all say the same thing. Such a tragedy.

Let us know the details, if there is an opportunity for us to be a part of that.

First, I would like to say thanks to probably one the best friends a guy could have, Gasman, thanks for all you have done. Secondly, I would like to thank all my fellow bikers and friends on this site. This is what its all about, good friends coming together to help a fellow rider grieve the loss of a dear family member.
My Uncle Geoff was only 3 years older than I and we did a lot of growing up together. We were more like brothers rather than uncle and nephew. I remember my uncle the most from two main points in my life; 1) when I was in junior high I was 12-13 and he and my Grandad asked me if I wanted to get back into scouting. So, I joined up with my uncles troop and I had 5 great years earning my Eagle Scout and having a great time. We also spent time together before I left for the service and got into some trouble together chasin girls and workin on cars. 2) When I got back from the Army and he helped get me more involved in the world of motorcycles. I was hooked from there on. I had bought my first bike while I was away in the Army but he was one of the first calls I made to tell my news to. When I got back he only encouraged me and we went on a couple, albeit not enough, rides together. He has been a big influence in my life, taught me lessons, if not by wisdom by showing me from his mistakes. I chuckle at that one when I remember all those times. :eightball6:

He was taken way too soon from us. He still had much to do on this earth, but he went out exactly the way he wanted to; on his bike. BikerGeoff, you will be missed, but your memory will live on long after the pain of your loss has been washed away by time. Your smiles and laughter will always be recalled and your tall tale fish stories will be told and retold by those that knew and loved you the best. I know your up in heaven riding the great roads with Granddad and all the other great riders and family members we have lost.

God Bless and God Speed.

Funeral information will be posted as it is made available to me. I do know that it will be at Molnar Funeral Home (http://www.molnarfuneralhome.com/brownstown_funeral_home.shtml) on West just east of Telegraph road. It will more than likely be a closed casket viewing followed by cremation and then the family funeral a day or two following. More to come.

Again to you all, thanks for the support and condolences. These are trying times and with support from friends and family pain is washed away with joy and remembrance.

Amen brother. As I told you on the phone, I have love for you thrice over. You're a neighbor, a friend, and a biker... all of which levels up to being there for each other. In this case, my shoulder is here for you; for tears, for strength, or to carry your weight. Brothers to the bone. I will get with you when I get back in town.

Once we have the info on the funeral I will post it everywhere and we will arrange from there. If somebody just has time to pay respects at the viewing then so be it. I know I will probabby do both, and think we shoudl ride in the funeral. But we will see how the family proceeds.

Here's the details....

Molnar Funeral Home in Brownstown on West Rd between I-75 and telegraph. I suggest you go to it from Telegraph if possible because West Rd is torn up between 75 & Telegraph. The funeral home is about a block east of Telegraph.

Viewing from 2-9 on Monday
Closed casket

He will then be cremated and funeral service at the funeral home at 11am on Tuesday. Sean will be out of town after Monday's viewing as he has prior obligations he's putting off and can't do further past Monday. I will be paying my respects after work on Monday.

Being there will be no funeral procession I'm giving a stand down in that regard. But I'm sure Sean will be greatly appreciated of any support for him and his family during these trying times.

I was there for a few hours earlier with Sean. Him and his family hit the road just a few ago, they were already a day late for their other plans.

Maybe we could set up a memorial ride to do in his honor each year for friends and family?

Not a bad idea guys... But I would want Cave's input on this and see if that's something him and the family would be interested in. Could be in honor of Geoff but we could call it the TWM Fallen Rider event.

We do one for a buddies Friend every year he hit a deer on the way to ride the Hoka Hey Motorcycle Rally. People all over the US and Canada Tie a yellow bandana on their bike ( Mike always had one tied to his handlebars) and take a ride on the day he passed.
