this guy is speaking the truth.... I am doin my best to teach my kids exactly what he says they don't know. Its our response ability to do so, as parents.

These kids need to learn how to work with their hands. I see it all the time at the shop. Only a small percentage of the teenagers I try to hire even know what a wrench looks like. It's getting harder and harder to find a kid that's mechanically inclined.

It's become a disposable world. Kids grow up with everything given to them, and when it breaks, they throw it away and mom buys them another new next best thing.

It's pretty tough to do any meaningful work with one hand...............

I watched a video, no pics on my screen.....

My son knows how to do front disk brakes now....He was always interested in how things work though. He actually suggested he could probably do it after reading how on the internet (and probably watching how on youtube, lol). I instructed and provided the tools, but he got dirty and did the work.

part of the problem is that todays kids learn almost nothing from their parents. when i was a young kid i remember my dad working on cars and trucks too so naturally i learned alot of those skills from him. my mom and dad were divorced by the time i was 8yrs old. i remember comming home form my dads and questioned my mom about some chicken she was cooking. from that day on and the rest of the year i got cooking lessons from mom
