Monroe had two fatals last week with other vehicles involved. The riders were both in their 40s. One of the drivers was 16, the other was 17. Bad stuff for all involved.

you know? I can't imagine what it would be like to be 16 or 17 and have sitting on your conscience the fact that you killed someone with your car. From what I read in both cases in Monroe it was fullly the fault of the cars' drivers. I just couldn't imagine that on my mind for the rest of my life and so young to have it get there.

Awesome 4 out of 99 are in my side of town, and just doubled checked with google maps, and they're 4 out of 5 major intersections (well 6 if you count the intersection that drops from 40 to 25 then terminates in a residential instead of cutting all the way Mich Ave.) https://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msid=201576876172697669126.0004df282d6086d5a369 8&msa=0&ll=42.320097,-83.47352&spn=0.051341,0.101624 The Ford & Beck intersection is surprisingly low traffic considering it cuts from Mich Ave all the way out to Walled lake in a straight line, and touches all major East/West roads. But then again its on the back side of most of the towns it goes through.

Drive down to Wixom everyday from out here and people on 96 drive like fools. I don't ride my bike to work very often because of it. Not a day goes by without seeing close calls. not a week goes by without seeing a wreck.

I regularly ride all but 20 of those, grew up with most of them. Gotta ride like you're invisible and that you have a target on your back! Not the end all but it's sure to help.

The worst thing is Northern Michigan is the deer. I see them daily. Those damn forest rats are everywhere. I can't believe they want to change the hunting laws so you can no longer shoot anything less than 4 pointers. Believe me, there is no shortage of deer in these woods.
