OK while installing my front speakers my fairing dropped onto my front fender and scratched the chit out of it. My bad I brought a towel out to sit the fairing on and should have got another to put on the front fender. So it went across all three paints and deep.
1.Do I get it repainted? 2.Put a fender trim piece on? 3.Do something custom up there? 4.? I dont like 2
Does anyone know someone that can fix it or a custom air brush artist?

Holy crap! If it were me, in order to minimize downtime, I'd order a new one from HD then sell the old one on CL

Delete this thread.
It happened in a parking lot while the bike was parked. New fender no deductible all better.

^^This is what I would do... Maybe get a HD sticker or something.

Heck a little touch up paint would probably do the trick as well.

Just get a TWM sticker from Gas and sport the advertisement for the site.

On a serious note, that sucks a mean one...... I have a pretty nasty scratch on my fender too from my daughters bicycle. Her bike fell over and the brake lever put a nice little scratch in there. Not quite as bad as that or as noticeable either.

I do, however, agree with Hawgrider. do that, exactly, that. and tell no one.

I thought about the parking lot thing but I am not a very lucky person and believe to much in Karma something worse would happen.(its just my life and a guy who looks for bombs dont like to mess with Karma) That said I am thinking of the sticker thing till I can decide what to do custom wise or maybe find someone selling a tin there was a guy a few weeks ago selling all his tins off his 2013 BBP RG wish that was this week.

yeah, I feel ya on the Karma thing. I sometimes feel like I am always right on the cusp of gettin my pee pee smacked. I have sometimes just narrowly gotten out of getting a ticket, which one time included a near miss with a DUI. Thank the Maker the officer was an Air Force Vet.

Yep I got out of lots of tickets in New England they will not ticket other officers as soon as they saw my K9 sticker they would ask me who I was with and to have a nice day.

I've gotten anywhere from, "your a vet? Me: yes, cop: have a nice day slow down" - to "I don't ticket Vets, drive safe." of course the thing that pisses my wife off is when she gets pulled over she still gets the ticket and she has the veteran plate on her car as well, they always assume it was the husband. She served 5 years!!

That could probably be fixed by someone with some airbrush skills but the cost would probably be close to a new fender. I've fixed worse. IMO, the easiest and cheapest fix would be some kind of trim piece. It would look like it's supposed to be there. A sticker that close to the edge might look out of place.

That blows man... this is exactly why I always cover the front fender with a double or more folded towel.

I will send you a TWM sticker if you want it... shoot me a PM with an address.

However, I'd go to the HD dealer and try something like an emblem. Hell I remember Kosher doing a belt bucket mod (http://www.twowheelmichigan.com/showthread.php?3240-Belt-buckle-mod)

Thanks Chris that gives me some new ideas I did not think of a medallion type of thing and it did work on Kieths bike.

Dont worry about mailing me a sticker I will meet you soon but we may have to move TWC to Saturday as we have not had lots of luck with Sundays.

If that is original H.D. paint I believe you can order touch up paint, all it takes is time. Yes you just keep dabbing it into the scratch until you fill it level or just a bit low, follow with dabs of clear until your up to level or just a touch high. Sand smooth with a bit of 1000 grit paper and then buff. Thats what a bump shop would do and you save $600 for a new painted fender.
