On the docket..

Service & powder front forks
Oil Change
Fix license plate mount

We tore that bike apart... found a broke bolt on the sissy bar, and stripped out one of the fork damper bolt plugs. Same thing that happened to one of my forks. Also found out the fork bushings are worn and need replacing.

The bike now

My damn thumb is killing me from whacking it with that mini sledge. Simple things never turn out to be simple. Let me know when you get the parts back ill come over and give you guys a hand putting it back together. Looking forward to seeing it finished.

Well I picked up some other parts needed for the job. Also, replenish some shop supplies... took a can & a half of brake clean to clean the crazy crazy thick fork oil from the forks. NUTS!!

And to powder the triples had to get the old bearings pressed off.

Glad to know we weren't just stupid and they had to be pressed off

I'm sure I will be happy with the finished product. I just got a bit of sticker shock when I realized how much this was going to cost me. Props to you guys who have spent the time and money personalizing your bikes with powder coating and painted inner fairings. This shit adds up FAST!

You have no idea. What you pay for the bike is just a down payment on mods. Your never done. I still have more I want powdered plus a bunch of other shit which by itself isn't a lot but can add up into the thousands real quick.

Yeah and when you get to mods that have hidden costs, it really hurts.

The best was I slammed the front end together. It looks tight as f**k and all this black really makes the blue stick out.

Got the forks put together with new bushings, fork seals, dust seals and new HD type E fork oil

Hung the forks

Thought for a minute... no fender... but once I got the blue fender on there. The black makes it F'in POP!! The black bits just make this blue!!
http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l311/cjclark69/Lift%20Wrenching/Joey/IMG_3415_zpse045d83c.jpg (http://s99.photobucket.com/user/cjclark69/media/Lift%20Wrenching/Joey/IMG_3415_zpse045d83c.jpg.html)

Tonight we finished it all. Including things we didn't plan on... from leaving the handlebars hanging the front brakes got aired up so we had to completely bleed the brakes... but oh well... shit happens. The bike got done, and it looks awesome. He just needs to figure out what he wants to do with the bars. I think he just needs to replace the extra long cables/lines and enjoy!

Hopefully he will put up some end result pics that I never got tonight.

Ya something needs to be done about the cables. Either put the long risers back on or new cables.

Other wise I'm really liking it an I laughed about what you said about the fender because the same thoughts ran through my head.

Yeah, I think after tweaking the bars farther forward, he's happy with the bars. He just needs new cables & lines. I told him to just order black vinyl stuff and be done with it.

Yeah it looked tough with no front fender but the blue looks so insane awesome against the black. You can see it on the rear fender too with the rear fender struts now being black.
