friday 3-1-13 around 5:45 i stopped at the Harbor Freight at 34900 Groesbeck Hwy, Clinton, MI 48035-3367 to purchase a motorcycle table lift.

i ask for a table at the front counter because they keep them in back. so they call somebody to help me, she turned out to be an angry person that must hate her job cause she gave me attitude right off the bat. just a pissy tone asking what i drove. now i'm thinking what does it matter what i drove, so i tell her a mini van. so she roll's her eye's and calls the back room and tells them i want a bike lift and i have a mini van. then i was informed it "will not fit in a mini van"................. i'm stumped because i measured the van ahead of time to make sure i can close the hatch and i informed her of this. she proceed's to get more angry and tell's me it won't fit over and over again.

so she tell's me to wait and someone will be out to talk to me. as i'm waiting i'm looking at some gear puller because i need some too, and i hear her say i'm argueing in the store. at no time was i argueing or talking loud. this male worker come's out and tell's me he will not load it into a mini van because it's 7 foot long. i looked the information up ahead of time so i know how long it is and i inform him it's 7 foot 2 inches and my van hold's 7 foot 6 inches so it will fit. he still said it "wouldn't fit and they can't sell me a lift because it won't fit in a mini van and it's too much work for him". so one more time i tell him 7 foot 2 inches will fit into 7 foot 6 inches and i will load it myself. i was them informed it's not for sale and that's all that's too it.... i don't want him to load it, just bring it out and i'll load it myself. so after a minute of trying to tell him 7 foot 2 inches will fit into a space of 7 foot 6 inches i say alright and turn around to leave. i take a few step's and notice the male worker is walking right behind me escorting me out. i was calm the whole time, the store worker's are the one's that were making a scene over bringing out a motorcycle table lift from the back room. this whole time there were other customer's watching this and some of them walked out after watching this and saying how messed up it was that i can't buy a product because i drove a minivan and they will not buy from there again.

at no time did i expect somebody to load it for me, i just wanted to spend a few hundred at your store.
i never knew if you had a mini van, you couldn't buy anything from that store and to get escorted out for no reason is beyond me when i was calm the whole time and didn't make a scene.

so in short i was refused service because i drove a minivan, 7 foot 2 inches won't fit into 7 foot 6 inches, it's "too much work" for the employee to bring it out and i was escorted to the front door's.

if there is a district manager i could speak with that would be great.

thank you

Some places make it real hard to buy from them.I think its when the lazy people take over.Whenever i tell em i will load it they are always happy cause it releases them and that includes the hf store here in pontiac.Montgomery wards always treated me like that well they are not anymore.

Wow, just wow. Where is this HF located? I just finally got one near me (Troy). I went and they were still putting stuff away as it was a new store. They didn't have what I wanted and were not at all helpful as to whether they would have one when the store was stocked.

Damn Jon......that's not good at all. You would think making a sale would be there number one priority. After all, that's the objective right? I think you just ran across a couple of lazy ass douchers pissed at the world. Keep us posted on this.

You handled that alot better than I would....if someone started treating me like that...I would tell them to stick that lift in their ass! and tell them I will buy it from another place that doesn't have any lazy fucks working there!...but that's just me

Jon, are you on Facebook? I have found those public mediums are useful with shit like this.

Keep us in the loop man...

I do agree, I think these were just some lazy asses. But heads should roll due to it.
