I have heated bars on the sporty, but not the Buell. Heat Demons makes a cool kit for Harleys which supplies a new clamp on the left hand control that houses the switch. Not so for the Buell.

I thought about heated grips and heated gloves, but found a cheaper way that will allow me to wear any glove I want and move the heat to another bike!

Heated glove liners!

These are from Powerlet
http://www.powerlet.com/shop-by-product/heated-clothing/HEATCLTHNG

They came with everything to wire from the battery to a plug on the bike, the controller that goes from the plug to the glove liners and the glove liners.

Powerlet is local. Not really set up for retail, but I was able to go over and try them on and have a nice chat.

I checked on line pricing and the cheapest place I found to order them was direct.

Can't wait to try them out! I will add to this with an "after ride report".

Yeah, with Gerbing going down the toilet, glad to see a local company picking up some business.

I didn't hear that.

About a year ago, they decided to bring their manufacturing back to the US.

A few months ago, they got bought by a venture capital firm (never a good sign), their customer service has really tanked.

I'm not hopeful.

I hope I get to ride it again before it gets too warm. My exhaust header has been out for ceramic coat for almost three weeks.

The wait was known up front. Not free, but less than if I wanted it fast. I have another bike, so I don't mind. I will have it back next week.

Well, I have the MoCo heated grips, put them on 5 years ago and used ths sh*t out of them, they quit on me last fall, barely a 100,000 miles WTF, and the $200.00 cost is out of the question at this time. They do spoil you though, so I'll have something for next fall.

Got to try the glove liners today. Not super cold, but I did some time on the freeway, so the chill was there. Liners worked great. On the lowest setting I could feel no heat, but didn't get cold. I turned them up a notch and could feel the warmth over the back of my hands. The bar felt cold, but it didn't sink into my hands.

As thin as they are, they still made my gloves tight. My thumb was irritated with the fit of gloves I wear all the time. I tried on a couple other pairs of gloves with the liner and think I really need a size bigger to be really comfortable.

So, cheaper than heated gloves, but not a good fit with the gloves I usually wear. Useable, but not comfortable. Maybe another pair of gloves for the really cold is in order.

Thanks - also, how/where do you run the wire?

sprink

Wires run from gloves up sleeves of jacket join together and run to controller than to plug on bike. I need to move my plug so the controller can fit in my pocket instead of hanging/scratching bike.

i got the heated gloves for below 45, but hate dealing with the wires. Thinking bout switching to the grips, but wondering how well they keep your hands warm.

yeah, thinkin about this. I've heard they arent terribly reliable and have to be externally wired. True?

Also thought about heat demons...

Heat demons are externaly wired... NOT the HD's. The HD's are quality and if you don't get chrome flashy they are only abt $150

That's exactly right, about $169... I ordered mine about 2 weeks ago. HD had these on backorder for a few days but should be seeing them this coming week. Easy install from what I've heard. Plug and play.....

Koshers might be a bit more complicated since he already has wires shoved down his bars. When i did my wires i just got rid of the wires for the heated grips.
