Our ride back was great other than the stretch of 23 that runs through town with lights and such people just would not get moving. The last hour we got rained on but not too bad.

Yea, that was hot and frustrating. We dodged the big storm by an inch!

Nice riding with you!

Can't wait to hear more stories...

What do you guys think of a early October trip? Before it gets cold?

Careful now. You are talking back country. October is hunting season = deer on the move. It was hot as fuck last weekend and we still saw a large doe at dusk and Bill and I saw several deer Sunday morning on the way home (and some nice fat turkeys). October would be good with me but just keep in mind you are going to have to dodge deer big time - September would be better. But I am going back in July so if anyone wants to join me please feel free. I can't wait that long to go back. Gilchrist is calling.

I haven't - post some info up and maybe we will next time. Better yet in a month you can lead me to Jimbos on our next group ride. We did eat in some place in Athens that is pretty nice. Blarney's or something?

Bill - I got the music you requested all ready. Now I need to start working on the video. Think I will do the pictures first so I can incorporate them into the video.

Makes me think that open carry could be part of defensive motorcycling. If you can shoot with your left hand. :)

JimBo's Bar & Diner is nestled in the Hocking Hills between Old Man's Cave and Ash Cave on State Route 56. Stop in and enjoy home-made burgers (beef or pork) and ice cold beer. Open Thursday through Sunday - 11am to 11pm. All Bikers are welcome! Sunday of Labor Day weekend is the annual Hog Roast and Motorcycle Rodeo, camping available. JimBo's is open April through December, and closed for the winter season.

awesome. Whole lot of chrome in that picture. Need to mix it up with a little variety of bikes like we had last weekend.Lol yes The chrome crowd can spot a cold one from quite a distance. Ive seen a nice mix there and it was fairly quiet when I was down there in early October last time. They serve anyone even speed demons:kawi:

Bring an appetite...... The burgers are huge. Typical redneck joint with a biker flair. And its in the middle of nowhere.

Nikon D3100 - those are all taken with kit lens 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 I believe. Little bit of light makes all the difference in the world - that and I am getting pretty good at using Lightroom 4.4 but if you ask Chris you don't need to edit, lol.

You even got a shot of speedracer

There are more pics. I tried to get a little of everyone. Just missed Bill and Mike when I stopped on the side of the road - I was a little premature in stopping. Next time at a stop I will leave 5 minutes before everyone and get properly set up to get shots of everyone.

you are still alright in my book. A+ job on setting this up and for leading us around SE ohio this past weekend. I feel like we only touched the tip of the iceberg on what roads are around there. Looking forward to going back and riding more. And of course the obligatory buckeye sundae that I didn't get on highway 666. I hear it tastes like defeat but it's a must try.

Thruxtonbill

Thanks. I'm just glad you guys enjoyed it and you're right we only got to first base, so much more down there and even crossing the river into WVa. If we had headed west from 26 it gets super scenic and more roads that just leave you wanting more.
I should tried a burrito.

I was working and posting - multitasking, lol. Now I was working on pictures and videos. First step today was to rename all the videos. That is done. Now back to pictures. I did look through the videos briefly and found the 555 video and did confirm it was the same exact corner where I crossed the double yellow. The video gives you a good idea of what kind of wicked turn that was. Totally caught me off got and slowed me up after that for a couple of turns until I could process in my mind what the fuck just happened.

Thanks fellas. Ok so you know in the future anytime I break off up front I might go 5-10 minutes ahead and pull over to take pics. That's my PSA. Other times at a stop if I know the route I will leave 5 minutes before the group to get set up. I really didn't have a ton of time to get the right settings on the camera for those shots but worked out ok anyways.

So I got all the video uploaded into the editor. 4 hours 40 minutes of footage to get highlights from and turn into a 5 minute clip. Fun fun. Fuck me.

thanks boys. Actually part III will be the best of the bunch. Just trying to capture a little bit of everything. part III really will show the elevation changes of the roads we rode on friday. looking back at the video I think that might have been the best of the roads that we were on. Bill can comment on the route I can't remember I was just following him. Thinking this might be a 4 or 5 part series. fuckers made me work today instead of floating holiday so I did a few work things but mainly just fucked around with video. Ok so finally I got my head out of my ass to breath some air for a minute - August 24, 25 - Bill? Anyone else? Interested? And I have some open time in September as well. I wouldn't mind doing the 8/22-8/25 UP run but would be a ton of slab miles on the R1 - may never walk again after that trip. I'd have to to start farther north than here to make it feasible. But I would definitely like to hit Hocking Hills again ASAP.

Yes I was wondering if your plunge back into the corporate world would have an effect on going back. Ok let's shoot for September. Maybe I will use the 24/25 to take the fun governor somewhere to leave September more open for Hocking Hills. We are in serious jeopardy of failing to make this a tri-annual event.
