Found this interesting video on splitting lanes...

I will put it out there... I believe we all should be able to do, but...

I find their theory completely FLAWED!!

It is not safer! :wtfru:

It may be more economical, but NOT safer.

So to stop being rear ended, split lanes... hmm. It doesn't eliminate if you're the first in line at the light, and the 2nd "vehicle" rear ends you... BAM!! :zowned:

They start quoting Florida va Cali and rear ending... What is the ratio of blue hairs? Seems like any crazy accident in Florida seems to involve some 85 googol year old bag... :eightball6:

Back in 87 I was looking off a balcony of a building in Italy looking down at traffic. I guy on a scooter rolls by splitting lanes. Traffic was at a standstill so as he rolled by, a guy in a car decides to open his door......Bam!...lights out. Guy on the scooter layed on the ground not moving. When the ambulance finally arrived, he was moving but very little. I will not split lanes.....don't give to shits what the so called experts and there % of safety states.

I have split lanes but not often in heavy traffic... I'm talking in my sportbike days and I was doing 140+.

I will ride shoulder if it's only me or if it's only like me +2. But the 3rd guy has to be good and hang in TIGHT!

remember kids the shoulder is just another lane for motorcycles.. split lanes, chop em up, snort em.. whatever it takes..

I'll crawl a shoulder if traffic is standing, I've had people swerve at me on 275 even when there wasn't any traffic, so I think I'll keep my escape options more open.
