It's a great sport and an even better feeling to know you can protect yourself.

Im very excited. Ive always liked going to the range but its not as enjoyable when its not your firearm. Im loving reading and learning about this weapon and it gives me an excuse to get to the range more.

Ok ill ask you guys. Need a few suggestions on things. Looking for suggestions on holsters both for conceal and open carry. Also what do you guys use for cleaning?

Generic pistol cleaning kit will do ya just fine.

I love my Fobus holster for the bike and open carry.

I have a cantered galco leather holster for conceal. The canter helps hide the gun print under your shirt. I love it.

When you get any leather holster like that... put your gun in a zip lock, wet the holster and insert the gun. Let it air dry. It will help break in the holster so the gun slides in and out a bit better.

Kinda like a Lays Potato Chip. Can't stop at just one.
I try and keep everyone I have suited to a different purpose though.

So the other day I ordered a IWB holster. I got a Crossbreed supertuck. I'm really looking forward to getting it as I also signed up for a cpl class. I found a class on the michigan gun owners forum that offers a 2 for 1 deal so me and the girlfriend get to go for 100 bucks. The part I find ironic is the class is being held in a church and then of to the range.

Also since I went to Top Gun yesterday and shoot when I was out riding they weren't renting any 9mm or 45acp pistols due to the ammo shortage. First time I went in there where I could say it was dead in there. Also when I went to buy ammo they could only sell me 50 rounds. It was after this I decided I needed to start reloading my own. I've been saving my brass that past couple months and last night I ordered a reloading press and everything else to get started besides the actual ingredients for ammo; primers, powder, and lead. The only shit thing is even the reloading equipment is backordered so its going to take 4 weeks to get my stuff in. I was even more bummed because I've been looking at a compact 45 and they had the two models I am trying to decide between for rental but since they weren't renting I couldn't try them out.

They won't sell you more than 50 rounds?

They sold me 50 for the range and I managed another 25 hollow points out of them before I left.

ammo shortage won't last forever and if you go to out of the way places they still have plenty of ammo. I just bought a couple hundred rounds up in the thumb at an out of the way place about 1-1/2 hours from here. They had shit tons of ammo.

Yeah it's just the more popular and range places.
