First bath. I wanted to roll it outside to take a few pics, but it was raining. Lighting in the garage is crappy. There is a breathtaking amount of plastic to clean on this bike.

I'm going to get the black version of this: http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/gma_product.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=84552444876991 3&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374309450749&ASSORTMENT%3C%3East_id=2534374309450749&locale=en_US&bmUID=1353727322640&bmLocale=en_US (the Harley parts site is so lame. I have a 2013 catalog. Their parts site only shows the chrome one. When I search for the part number from the catalog on their web site, I get no results, go figure)

That black garden hose thing they use for the windshield trim is hideous.

Well, the install of the windshield trim is done, but holy crap, what a pain in the ass.

Getting all the holes to line up, just a pain in the ass, and I'm not thrilled with how it fits, its not flush everywhere.

I hate that shit when it should be that easy.

try to take a heat gun to it. Carefully that is, not too close or too long so as to melt the thing but a little softening might help it mold right in.

I know some of there shit is just terrible (china crap). I fought that stupid headlight trim ring for about a month before I called it quits and bought the expensive Headwinds unit.

yeah, well, it looks like I'll be taking it off. People on roadglide.org are reporting paint damage from this part, and it doesnt surprise me. another $150 down the tubes.

Well, if other than fit you like it try adding some 3M tape to the inner mating surface to soften the edge and it won't bite into the paint. That may even help with the fitment issue. Just when you add it make sure that you mount it away from the edge far enough that it won't show or just once its in place a little bit of sharpie action and you will be in business. I like the look of it and think a little bit of modification would make a decent looking part work just fine.

The double sided tape might be a decent idea.

Yeah if you like the look go for it. I really wish someone would come out with something decent. Sinister makes great windshield that don't show the mounting holes but aren't functional for protection. I really like having someone else I know with a fugly it doesn't make me feel so much like the read headed step child that title will stay with cave I guess.

Too funny Lance - I have to say, there was a time where I thought anyone who bought one of these had lost their mind, but I'm so glad I got it.

I ordered the Mako shield from LRS, I'm going to put that on and see how it does.

You probably saw the review of the Kury windshield trim, I think that will probably be a winner (another surprise since there is very little Kury stuff I like)

No I didn't see the kury trim I'll have to check it out. I like the mako but it is too straight up and down for me. Im thinking either windvest or a cee bailys trssc dome. Not sure yet but well see. I am for sure getting a klockwerks 8 for everyday riding.

Make sure you test ride your mako with the plastic on so if you want a different size you can exchange it.

Here's the Kury part. Its gloss black, not sure how it would look against your matte finish.

Ya I read the kury review and it just got added to my list. It will be painted flat if I get it though but it might not look to bad considering the shield is shiny
