Let's here it fellas....what are some of the dumbest things youv'e done while working on your bikes that makes you look back and say WTF! I can't believe I did that!

I just changed my oil in the primary and put a new derby cover on. Went for a ride tonight and stopped at my Bils and noticed I had oil leaking from my Derby cover. Preety bad too. So I take the cover off and what do I see.....the gasket saying to me in BIG red letters " this side towards the clutch" WTF!! How did I do that! Drained the remainder of the oil, refilled, put the gasket on the RIGHT way...no leaks. Pure Dumb man!

I decided to change my oil on the shadow after working for 24 hrs because it was nice out and then I started to pour the oil in with out putting the filter or drain plug back in.

I set my beer on the exhaust pipe while putting the carb back on. didn't notice til I fired 'er up. Spilled the beer and she smelled like Labatts untill the next time I got her out and ran her long enough to get the pipes cooking.

I have done that a couple of times.. start filling the oil and then look to see it dumping out all over the ground - doh!

First time I used the oil scavenger I forgot to remove the filler cap and when
I started it oil blew all over the front wheel and floor from drain hole. What a mess........

What I don't like with the scavenger is that you have to leave the drain plug out... it makes a mess anyway.
