It seems like the generic ones are coming out now.

Headwinds came out with one for the 7" for $490 (http://www.headwinds.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=headwinds01&Product_Code=8-9750C&Category_Code=01040161)

But JW Speaker has what looks like the same unit for $390 (http://ok4wd.com/j-w-speaker-model-8700-led-high-low-beam-7-round-headlight.html)

Guess where H.D. gets their L.E.D. headlight from? And when first released, H.D. was giving a one year warranty while J.W. was giving a two year, go figure.

I dont know about the led headlights but- I think after following one for 700 miles last weekend that had led tailights they SUCK big time. You cant see diddley during the day time on the rear of a bike with one of those big LED taillights. The Harley with standard tailights was Way WAY more visible. Night yeah its was very visible daytime was terrible. I wouldnt want one on my bike for fear of being rear ended they suck!!

Now I've been told the opposite that people can't see the taillights on my bike but the bikes with led tail lights are way more visible.

Now I've been told the opposite that people can't see the taillights on my bike but the bikes with led tail lights are way more visible.I just returned from WV and southeast Ohio we did close to 700 miles I had the back of the group the whole way There were 3 of us My Heritage, One Street glide, And one Yamaha road liner The road liner has a big profile taillight. When the sun is out you cannot hardly see running light. A little better when he was braking. At night time yeah very visible. Day time they can keep them. I'll take an 1157 type bulb any day of the week.

Yeah I know thread is about the head light. But it reminded me of how I don't like led's

Take a good look at the new led's on semi trucks during the day. Again I think they suck When the sun is out I can barley see them.

I'm with rugby on this..

I wonder what brand those LED tail lights were...

I went the cheap route because I like the nostalgia look and it still provides much more light. I put the Hella flat Euro type E class lens and the Osram 80/100 bulb.

Im referring to what ever Yamaha Put on the Road liner stock in 2010 Its sort of a V shaped led tail light.

My BIL's is similar on his Kaw Vulcan Voyager. But haven't noticed any issues with seeing it. His entire rear end is LED... looks nice!

That trunk probably shadows the tail light making it more visible in the bright sunlight. Key words BRIGHT sunlight. Night time Yeah they are brighter than conventional...... In my opinion.

Yeah maybe..

might also have to do with the signal cover. I've seen a few with the smoked & clears that you barely notice them.

10-05-2012, 07:17 AM
That might be the reason right there.

Well I'm doing LEDs this winter... new front turns and rear LED tail light. Running a couple different brands...

That being said, I rolled Custom Dynamics on the Nightster and they are awesome!! I get compliments all the time on how bright they are.

Lights please...
Left blinker (hard to see with the wierd side light from the open garage)
With these Eclipse versions for the fronts. Instead of going from level 1 brightness and blink brighter.. these actually turn off and back on instead. They say this makes them more visible. To avoid the "left hand turner in front of you".
