Picked up a slightly used set of Progressive 940 rear shocks from a buddy of mine...

Here's some info on them..
J&P Cycle (http://www.jpcycles.com/search/search?Ntt=940-4020ut&Context=28012733%2B274910&Ntk=All) because Progressive's site blows.

Still like new...

This was one of the simplest bolt on mods ever.

It's sad this is all you can see behind the saddlebag, they're almost too pretty to be covered up this much.

So far I really like them. I'm really curious how they are with a passenger. I don't think I will have to adjust them. So far so good.

I got a deal on some used Ricor shocks that were like new but not really impressed with them although they are still a step up from the stock air shocks. Like to hear what these progressives are like.

I will keep ya'll post abt them. But next time we get together, I'll let ya ride it.

I went down I-75 to Ohio last night... hit some huge crap in the right two lanes through Monroe. NEVER bottomed out these shocks. And I only have them set on the first notch (softest). The harder you set them, the better at avoiding bottoming out they would be.

Found some big enough holes today... bottomed that shit out like boom...

So I put it to notch 2... will try again.

i know the 940's are good shocks but why not stay with air shocks

940's are suppose to ride better, be more responsive, lower the bike, and not require any tools to adjust.

These shocks are NOTHING short of amazing.

I found out they only go to about 3.5 notches and they are fully done.

So I had them on notch 2 and they were pretty good riding solo. But setting up the bike for two-up and put my tourpack back on, so I went to notch 3.

Rode with tourpack and 130# wife on back.

AMAZING!!! is what the wife said. 200 miles and I don't think it ever bottomed out and she never got bounced forward. Now I know I'm doing the fronts this "mod-season". I love these things!!

Do they have a softer ride over small sharp bumps then the stock air shocks when solo?. I'm 185 lbs and ride solo only, and I feel the stock 13" are to stiff on small hit's.

Well you can adjust that on your air ride by adjusting the air psi.

But yeah they are softer. However, the softer you make anything the more likely you are to bottom out on big holes/bumps.

No help from progressive site on info except they have three shocks available 944 13inch low (FLHX) numbers 944-4002ut std rate 944-4020ut H/D So what Im asking is Are these shocks 12 inch eye to eye? when on the kickstand or is it rider sag there talking about? My bike has the factory Pos 12 inch shocks Im looking for better ride but do not want to bust the bank.

Then the 944s are the direct replacement. Being a SG, no change in ride height either.
