I missed my window of opportunity last month and still haven't edited any of those pictures so will definitely hit this one up. And I still need to edit the sequence of working on my bike.

Yes, yes we do. I find it very interesting that Boop's face is blurred... convenient.

Maybe you don't. I am never happen with straight out of the camera shit. Always needs a bit of tweaking.

Here you go. Not much editing on this one. The lighting was perfect. Just a small bit of lighting adjustment. Not sure if it is my camera or Picasa but one of them makes the raw files darker than the JPG's and you have to bring the lighting back up a little. Kind of played around with effects on this one but I thought the effects ruined the picture more than enhanced it. It was an enchanted little two track near McKinley and hit it at the magic hour just before sunset:

I like it. I never modify my pics. Some people can take a turd and make it look like a masterpiece, I just look for the best background I can find and take 4 pics. Then I'll submit my fav. Last weekend I forgot to snap any pics, I just made video.

There really isn't a picture I take that I don't modify something. If you shoot in manual I guarantee one of the settings is not perfect. Same with Av or Shutter Priority. If you shoot in auto well then everything is probably wrong as the camera assumes everything and even the most advanced sensor is nowhere near correct. I shoot mainly Av in outdoor lighting because light outside changes constantly whether you realize it or not. So I get the basic range I want to be in and I shoot the picture - you can tell by what shutter speed and ISO the camera picks whether you are close or not and even though the preview on the back of the camera is tiny you get pretty good at seeing what pictures are actually good or not if you zoom in and out and do enough pictures. And then there are effects - some pictures are, like you say, a turd - and all of all sudden you add orton effect and it is brilliant. Picasa is a free powerful editor that I like to use. When I shoot a picture unless I see the picture is dead nuts on with my preferred setting I will shoot several pictures with several settings - i.e. neutral, vivid, portrait, direct sunlight, shade, cloudy, auto white balance. Then I will take a million different angles to try and figure out which one looks best. Funny thing is that this picture is the very first picture I took. The rest I don't like the composition or something else except for a couple I did of just my bike but I kind of like the contrast of the 82 kai with the 06 yami.

What camera are you shooting? I could guess what camera you have and what settings you use.

I shoot auto... a point and shoot. I let the content speak for the image not the settings...

Exactly dude. When I shot point and shoot I wouldn't bother editing either and you have to let the content speak for itself because really there is nothing else. Point and shoot is like a shooting a SAW - spray and pray. Shoot a million pictures and pray 1 turns out good. I cut that factor way down by using a better camera and better glass. I take the shit serious otherwise it is no fun for me. I can shoot the same picture at least a thousand different ways. Can't do that with point and shoot. Sure they have little bullshit scene menus but they are a joke. DSLR is where it's at.

Not my submission but I still wanted to throw it on here. This was taken with my ipod last weekend, I love the clouds behind me. The sky was gorgeous this day.

This is my submission, got out for a ride today, I was in and out of the rain all day. Anyhow I came across a pumpkin shelf by Friske Orchards (south of Charlevoix) and I thought how fitting for our nice Fall weather.

This is on 53 between Imlay and Romeo. I've passed it a lot, but never stopped. GREAT pulled pork sandwiches!

I love this cow, I just couldn't resist taking a pic. Plus I like the "Dear Skinner Wanted", I just think thats hilarious, this sign has rotating messages, I waited for it to come around.
