Easy off oven cleaner (for cold ovens), I've read.

But some controversy on that suggestion. Also read that nail polish remover or any acetone-based cleaner works.

4 ought steel wool will do just fine, won't scratch the chrome either.

I have heard about people using oven cleaner also...I had some boot marks on my Stainless Creations pipes....and I used Blue-Job on them ...and that took care of that...

We just started making a new product for Harleys to protect the boot and the pipe and prevent this problem. Here it is with the Two Wheel Michigan member discount: Boot Shield (http://brukus.com/cgi-bin/p/awtp-product.cgi?d=brukus-motorcycle-parts&item=59355). We also produce it in Gloss Black and Matte Black.
