Well I wrapped my exhaust over "mod season" but put my heat shields back on. Just for purpose..

My neighbor Nick, picked up a (new to him) 07 SG. It came with a nice 2:1 V&H system. But the system doesn't have the optional heat shields. The ceramic had worn...

Here you can see the rear pipe freshly wrapped, and the front one shows the kind of worn I am talking about.

Close up of the rear pipe wrapped, not yet sprayed.

Both pipes done, silicone sprayed, and remounted. We also touched up the paint on the 2:1 section of the muffler.

It turned out AWESOME!!!

It was cheaper than buying heat shields.

Looks good. How long does the wrap last?

I had wrap on the shadow for about two years and didn't have a problem. The black will fade a little but it isnt going anywhere. Even after I went down on the bike I didn't re-wrap the bottom pipe that got a little shredded until the next spring and everything still was fine.

take the wrap off gas and let's see the pipe for a true comparision

Piece of advice... don't get the MC kit. Buy the automotive kit. The 15' roll BARELY did the front pipe.

Yeah ok

figured it was a long shot, lol

I ordered the 2" 25ft kit from DEI and it did both pipes with some left over. I might actually wrap my headers when I get the true duals next month. I'm linking this looks a lot.

The MC kit comes with 2 x 15' rolls. The rear was fine. The front barely did it.

Skip the 2-15' kits, just get the 50' one. Both the 200 C and 2006 R have wrapped pipes, if you keep them painted and sealed they will last for a loooooooong time. I also found that J B Weld applied to my lower pipe makes a great "rub" rail where the collector scubs the pavement. Also, start your wrap from the rear of the pipe as you will have less lip to collect debri when going down the road.
