My BIL is interested as well.. I should have my bike ready by then.. And because of the holiday I have no baseball on Friday so I am free (well pending a kitchen pass from the fun governor).. Let me know where we can meet and when Gas and we can meet you along the way or come to your house or something..

Mud... you can do what ever you want...

How about this...

Lance we can meet at 7pm at the Citgo gas station...

Then roll up and meet Mud at the OCB parking lot on Telegraph just south of Ecorse. That's right off 94 for a quick jaunt to GTC.

07-05-2012, 06:20 PM
well yesterday was not productive.. didn't do anything.. so unless I get it wrapped up tonight this is definitely out for me this go around.. then it is back to baseball next week, camping week after and baseball until playoffs are done on fridays.. so unless I pull off the miracle tonight then I won't be able to do this until later in the season, over..

07-06-2012, 09:15 AM
i'm going over to my mom's to do some repairs after the storms then relaxing. tomorrow morning i'm heading to ft. wayne for wing ding

07-06-2012, 12:37 PM
well the only thing I accomplished last night was painfully putting my tires and brakes back on due to pulling a back muscle during installation of the back tire.. so no go for me tonight for sure.. still need to put the plastics back on and some other minor shit before I am ready to ride..

07-06-2012, 12:48 PM
do you need a hand? i ain't working today and would be willing to help you get it back together.

Thanks for the offer but I think I am in the home stretch. Was sweating buckets last night and I was completely frusturated as I put on the rear tire and it was seized up and I pulled my back out. Went inside in the a/c for a bit and reconsidered my situation. Went back out after I cooled off to a reasonable level, knocked the axle back out and it went right in the second time. I should have lined up the axle blocks first before I put the axle in - worked like a charm. Didn't get any cooler and my back didn't stop hurting but I got it where it needs to go. Now I just need to adjust the slack a bit on the chain - manual says 0.79-0.98" and it is currently at 2.50". The 0.79-0.98" seems awful tight to me so I was thinking like 1.50" or right in that range. I have found aggressive riding it is always better to have a little slack or be on the high end. Come to think about it there is an aftermarket sprocket on there with aftermarket chain I should probably count the teeth and adjust in case they changed up the sprocket size. But now I just need to adjust chain slack, flush rear brake fluid and put the plastics back on. I also had an incident with the new license plate bracket last night - was pointed right at the rear tire with almost no clearance. Fixed that with a bit of bending looks good now. I was thinking about flipping it around 180 but I don't think I need to now - have plenty of clearance. Guess I will find out when I do a load test with me on the bike and furthermore when I ride - if the plate flings off then I guess I will have to get a new plate and fix the bracket. I wanted to do brake pads and fork fluid as well as lube the clutch cable but I will save that for late fall / early winter. I dropped my leathers off to the tailor today to get the zipper fixed for the track. Just need to drill the drain plug and another bolt, change the oil and wire it up along with the oil filter. Oh and I guess I need to read the manual on the Mad Dog oil filter to see how to clean, if you need to clean.

OH and mud... you simply clean it with a little air and brake clean.

07-06-2012, 04:31 PM
Ok thanks Chris. I do need your assistance but not until fall timeframe. Think you can help me with the fork fluid? I also need a second set of eyes to help modify my front stand to make it work - pushes up on the fairings and cracked the front. Was going to go with a longer pin but I don't think that will work.
