I have a small 2 man tent but needed to get another larger tent, but something that was small & light enough to haul on the cycle.

I was at the army supply store for some MRE's and found this nice 5 man/10x10x5.5'.

I set it up so I could seal the bottom 2 seems just to play it safe.

The 5 man should be good for 3 guys with gear.

This should be a great thing for Port Dover & Copper Harbor. :werd:

It was a brush on... shown in the 1st pic. It keeps the threads for leaking through.

nice little tent. Did you go to harry's for the MRE's. theres a bunch of online places you can buy them and pick your meals so you don't end up with the nasty ones like the vegetarian ones. My personal favorites are the jambalaya and chicken enchilada. I like to stock up for the hurricane deployments come the end of summer. Iv'e got a 3 man tent similar to that one but it hasn't been used in a while. Seeing this stuff is getting me excited for port dover and also reminding me I should start getting my shit together and figure out what I still need.

I have checked Harry's and they were more way $$.

I should also add that it has a rain fly that I didn't put on.

At Woodville, you can buy menu A or B. Both sound good.

I was thinking once we get a list of who's going to say Copper Harbor, I would see who wants to MRE it. I'll bring what is needed. I figure they'll be good for around the camp fire.

Lance... I hear ya. I'm always trying to refine my camping gear. I already have an inflatable bed mat, 2 different sleeping bags, and a camping pillow. As well as a couple LED headlights (for your melon). Maybe when you come over to work on your scoot, we can go over some things... text me about it. I'm free Mon & Tue.

So at the risk of getting harassed by you guys. Do I need to pack my tent or is there room in someone else's.

I'm taking my bag and my cot for sure. those army style cots sure are alot more comfy than the ground.

I think we'll have to figure it out once we get a head count for the event. Both Port Dover and Coper Harbor.

Mad Dog

I'll have my own tent. Do we need to make reservations? Copper Harbor

Gas Man

I don't think most camp grounds take reservations for tents... but maybe if we want many spots.

Barring any unforeseen events I'm down for the Aug2-6th. Boss man looked over my requested days and said there shouldn't be a problem.

You going to have your new gas tank by then?

Should be done by then. just etched and lined it friday, just need to redo some bondo on the seams where etching solution boogered things. Might even have it primed and sprayed by the end of the week if things quit going arse over tits on my days off.

GasMan,
A tarp under your tent is always a good idea, not only protects the bottom but will also help keep you dry if you get some heavy rain.
Just make sure it doesn't hang out past the tent. You can pick up a 5x7 or 8x10 cheap, they take up very little room.
I carry 2 when I'm on the road, 1 for under the tent and 1 for covering the bike.
