I realize we are a very diverse group, united by our love of motorcycles.* And then there are the day-to-day exigencies like jobs, spouses, families, etc.* But is anyone interested in starting a schedule of 2009 ride dates and locations?* Obviously not all of us can or will join the group, but for those of us who are available, it gives us something to look forward to.* Then I can get my yard work done in advance of a ride.*

Anyway, here is a start:

May 3, 2009 - Holly , MI Vintage Bike Gathering
October 4, 2009 - Holly, MI Vintage Bike Gathering

Any more?

I'm gonna have to get back with ya on this one....* I did put together an awareness ride last season that at it's high point had most likely more than a couple hundred bikes...* We started in Plymouth, then to Jackson, then to Hell, then to Onondage, then into Vermontville.....

It was just a spring ride for cause and promote motorcycle awareness ride.....* I can't say 100% if I will have time, a capable bike, or be in town come this spring....* I would love for this ride to become an annual event, even in my absence...* Anyone interested??

We also had riders from the west side come meet us in Vermontville!!

Here's the site from last year....

Great idea Meinschaft, I like Sunday rides myself... as of now, count me in for both.* I think I'll be looking at buying the Dr.Z by the season start...* So, as long as we stick to back roads and slower speeds, I am game... If we hit twisties, it's every man (woman) for himself... don't try to keep up...* ;)

We can put together a Sunday ride schedule... i want to learn the Westside loop... supposed to be the best (twistiest) roads in this area.* Also, I'd LOVE to take a trip to the Carolina/Tennesse/Georgia mountains (AKA Deal's Gap) for some fun.* It's been almost two years since my last trip there.

Let's keep this convo going and plan it out.

I don't have any planned but I'm up for riding a bunch this year.* I am an early bird so early morning Saturday and Sunday rides work best for me usually.

I've been heading out there for years in a car.* Hit some of it on my 250 last year and realized there are some bad sections of road there I never noticed in a car before. LOL* Very nice ride though.

Just ride your own ride BK!!* TOO MANY people have been hurt on those roads!!* A LOT is going on and it's easy to fixate on things...* If your not the fastest no big deal...* Everyone will be waiting at the next stop sign....* * It's a good time for sure!!* * Be prepared to change your line because gravel and mud from tractors is ALWAYS possible at any point and in the middle of any corner!!

So damn sweet. Looks cool without the headlight. It has to be quite a sight when a pack of crotch rockets go sailin by, and there's a Big Dog howlin away in the midst of em! You tube is an addiction. That Triumph 675 with 2 bros pipes. Jesus, what sweet sounds. Bikes rule.

Sometimes you don't have to keep up with a fast pace as long as you know the location.* Some of us cruisers do pretty well with speed.

kaw_boy
01-14-2009, 03:16 PM
We usually discuss routes in PM and play with Google Map to set out a ride....* But there are a few uf us that have rode together long enough we can get a little more comfortable with our riding speeds...* I in no way admit what we do is safe, smart, or legal....* But damn it's FUN!!!

Sounds like a great trip, and there are some great roads down that way. There's a member here who's familiar with that area, we'll have to get him to give us a guided tour! ;D
