Ok so on the docket for Dave's K9 is take the front end off, run over the rim with my truck for character, complete rebuild of his front forks, take the tripple trees off, pee through the neck of the frame, clean/inspect/repack the neck bearings, re-assemble... all while N8KAM tidies up some Wire's Plus wiring... Ok so not all of that will be done, I may not do the forks if I have too much fun running over his front rim! :lol

We'll start around 12pm and go till it finishes... at my house.

All are welcome to join in, you may be put to work unless you have girl parts.

If you have something needing to be done and we get enough people I'm sure we can fit it in... Just post up what you're thinking...

Yeah it's a Friday. So if needed we can spill into Saturday.

We can get some Shiet done. Let me know if you want to have some done to your bike. Post it here.

Ill be able to come since its on a friday. If anyone is half way decent with wiring and wants to show me how to solder then I could finally run my hanldebar wiring internally.

Caveman is a soldier champ!! Plus N8KAM will be around and he may even be better than Cave.

05-01-2012, 11:04 PM
Well if I'm in town and it spills into Saturday I wouldn't mind having the Nater look at my wiring. Did the wire plus myself and got it all right with the exception of losing the high beams. Would also like to see the forks being done too as I'm in need also for a seal change.

So we tore Dave's bike apart...

Replaced the bushings... which weren't that bad for 10,000 miles on a 12" over front end.

Also did new seals and fresh oil. The good Belray 20W oil and it's fancy jug

Lance stupervising

All rebuilt and ready..

This was right after we removed the neck bearings for inspection, cleaned and repacked the grease.

Coming back together

Also removed his exhaust to replace the clutch adjustment cover, and adjusted the clutch

Test rode and no more front end clicking... Dave was very happy

Hell yeah! Thanks again for all your help and hospitality :rockwoot:we also replaced my handlebar bushings...had a great time at Sean's suburb bonfire!! :lmao::whoop:

yep...had a clicking in my front end...after week did the fork seals..bushings and oil...no more clicky!
when I got back home...I noticed I lost my chrome ring that goes around my headlight....thankful that I had a new spare! I tightened my headlamp back up...cleaned threads...put a little anti-seize on the threads...put on new chrome ring...and loc-tited my set screw, so it shouldn't come loose again...I think my set screw wasn't all the way on the ring...good to go now!
